visited with Avalon and Agnes Johnson Bessie lived with the Johnsons on the Lamanite Placement some years ago Program Carma Swallow was generous with her time in leaching Bessie to play the piano Stanley served an LDS Mission to Montana He and Bessie are active n c nbers and leaders in the branch in Crown Point NM where they make their home Bessie is in charge of the music and Stanley is the Priesthood leader They had been to Provo for dental work for their who had special work done 'Avalon and Agnes Johnson went to the Manti Temple Aug 5 taking with them Ruthmary Brower and Kae Starley After doing some work they went through a session Also going that same day was Arthur and Beth Allen taking with them Ruth Allen and Veta Rasmussen After their work was done they were able to get two sessions cept Veta did one Alden Robinson drove over to the temple doing early work and also a session When Arthur and Beth were in Logan for 5 days with the Drill Team from MHS the Allens got 3 sessions each at the Logan Temple Mrs Arthur Allen vacationed at Fish Lake Aug and 2 Their daughter and Sheri and Ben Hunter of Logan were there dancing with a square dancing group On their way home the Allens stopped in Aurora and visited Don and Jean Neilson former Flowell residents The Neilsons are always happy to have friends from here call to say “hello” and make everyone welcome Cory Bingham of Idaho is vacationing here with her cousins Joel and Ben Harper at the home of their parents Gene and Alice Harper Walter Christensen and his son visited with his parents Ivin and Marge Christensen who surely enjoyed having them come On Aug 3 Don and llena Tomkin-sowent to Delta along with her parents Phillip and Thelma Burnham of Grand Junction CO to be present at Sacrament Meeting when the Burnhams’ little granddaughter the daughter of Cindy Burnham Finlinson and her husband Jay was given the name Jaimie and a blessing by her father Jay Uncle Don and grandpa After meeting the Phillip assisted family met at the Finlinson home for a delicious dinner They invited Don’s mother Nona Tomkinson to join them Nona lives at the West Millard Care Center Yvonne Jones was tak?n to the Salt Lake Airport by her husbandt)r Darnell Jones where she boarded a plane July to fly to Reno NV She was met at the airport by relatives who took NV to visit many her to Yerington relatives and friends but especially to attend her high school class reunion She had a great and enjoyable time On flying back to Salt Lake she was met at the airport by her husband and children Juliet and Ben The children stayed with daddy at his practice in Sandy He was unable to join Y vonne His father LeGrande Jones of Kanab has been seriously ill in the Provo Hospital Dr Jones visited his parents in Provo often His father’s health We surely do wish slowly improving the best for the Jones family Jack and Lisa Higley On Aug and children came and took her mother Virgie Ivie with them to Cedar City where they were invited overnight Terry guests of Virgie grandchildren and Terri Lynn Baldwin and children The next morning early the adults went sesa on to St George to go through sion at the St George Temple with Virgie’s grandson John Ivie of Flagstaff and witness his marriage to Rebecca Susan Fitzgerald of Portland OR John is the son of Jewel Bowman and the late Dr Morrel Ivie Rebecca’s Ivie uncle Don and aunt Carene Baldwin Terry and Terri Lynn uncle Paul and aunt Cleta Allen of Salt Lake City Cleta is a sister to Jewel Michael and Susan Holdsworth of Flagstaff accompanied the young couple through the temple and witnessed the Kim Baldwin Wolberg cared and met the family in the park at St MorGeorge John's cousins Michael rison and his wife Julie of Sacramento were planning to attend the temple but arrived a little late They and their tle daughter Erin met at the park along with Rebecca’s parents and Eldon Bowman Jewel Carene Kim Terri Lynn Lisa Julie prepared a delicious lunch which was enjoyed by the wedding party Many pictures were taken that evening That evening Kim and her husband Greg Solberg Derek and Darin invited uncle Jack and aunt Lisa and family cousins Michael and Julie and Erin and grandmother Virgie to a delicious meal of oven baked beans dutch oven punch and watermelon potatoes Michael Julie and Erin were overnight guests of Greg and Kim While Virgie Ivie was at the St George Temple she met Alan Nybo and his wife of Page AZ who were doing temple work Alan noticed Virgie came ever and introduced his wife He was a physical therapist at the Fillmore hospital when the late Delial Ivie was a patient there Virgie also met Louie former Meadow resident Duncary She and her husband Stanley are Ordinance Workers in the Temple Their home is Las Vegas Louie is a sister of Lora Utley of Flowell Vic and Lillian Rogers recently held two family reunions The first occasion was Friday July 25 in a park in south Logan where their oldest son David L was the host along with his wife Tamara son Jeff daughter Amy and daughter Wendy and son Corry from New Hampshire (Their son Dan is on a church mission in Santo Domingo) Other children present were son John S wife Kathryn children Ann Katrina Michael Keith Kristilyn Julie Ann and Melody daughter Kathie Smith and husband Dennis and Marilee children Timothy Christopher Douglas and Kevin and daughter Lillis Byers and husband Trank of Salt Lake City Also joining the group for this occasion were Wendy's other grandparents Mrs Merlin Larsen of Promontory and aunt Phyllis Christensen of Tremonton all of whom Vic and Lillian hadn’t seen for a number of in years prior to their mission Mississippi Since their son Craig wife Lissa children Benjamin Rebecca Melissa and Nicholas hadn’t been able to arrange their vacation for the above get a second reunion was together necessary so that all the children their spouses and families could renew acThis took place in Liberquaintances ty Park on Sat August 2 These two parks were chosen because of the entertainment features they provided for the A very enjoyable time grandchildren was had by all While away for the two different weekends Vic and Lillian attended church services in John’s Ward first and later in Lillis’ Ward Another enjoyable day was spent by them in the Manti Temple on Tues Aug 5 where they met with many of their former temple worker friends in two morning sessions dinner in the temple cafeteria and afterwards visits with some unable to attend the temple that day and others with whom they met in a park for the purpose of catching up on the news in the last ten of twelve years Still another delightful trip to the Manti Temple was on Saturday Aug 9 to be with their dear friend Helen Stevens of Holden who was attending the temple for her first time Many of her friends and relatives including her Bishop and wife were there to congratulate her Proud parents of a baby girl are Steve and Jennie (Penney) Lage of Elko NV Baby Angela was born July 27 1986 Jennie’s parents Don and Marian made a trip to Elko to get acquainted with their new little granddaughter Blanche and Olaf George have returned home following a joyous weed’s trip wthich took them first to Durango CO where Olaf attended his board meeting of which he is a member of the National Livestock Executive Committee A side trip was a ride in a passenger car on the Narrow Gauge Railroad which took them on a 3'j hr sightseeing trip with beautiful scenery up a canyon and to the famous gold mining town of Silverton which was booming between the 18 and 19 hundreds This was very interesting to Blanche and Olaf From here they traveled to Taos Mexico where they had served as missionaries It was great to meet again some of their dear friends They were surprised to find how much the places with many new there had grown businesses Especially were they pleased to find a large number of the dians out of pueblos and villages and into lovely nice homes In Colorado they also visited one of their missionary couples whom they have kept in touch with In Montrose CO they visited Blanche’s cousin Stevens Clark and husband What made this trip so enjoyable was that they decided to take their time so as to get the most out of their travels and not rush like we sometimes do The Stan and Sue Koyle family and Calvin and Faye Kelser family have really gone the second mile in making the stay of their Japanese exchange so much so that students enjoyable they might not want to leave for their homes in Japan on Aug 18 Kozuhiro Horie from Yokohama Japan is a guest of the Kelsers and Jun Urano from Tokyo Japan is guest at the Koyle home the exciting things the Among families have done with the Japanese boys was a trip to Lehman’s Caves A Japanese couple happened to be on the tour so did a lot of communicating with Kozuhiro and Jun These boys joined the Kanosh Boy Scouts on a recent weeks campout at Thunder Ridge above Parowan Utah with Phil Blad as their Scout Leader Phil having served his mission in Japan would find it easy to communicate with these Japanese friends Another fun day was had at Yuba Dam where Robyn Kevin Calvin Fay and Travis took the Japanese boys waterskiing With Pam Kelser Robison as chaffcur in her new van the Kesler and Koyle families took their guests on a trip to Zions and Bryce Canyons their stay in Kanosh During Kozuhiro and Jun had the experience of an overnight horse packing trip to Cove Creek in company with Stan and Travis and Spencer Koyle Calvin Lloyd Kesler Colby Robinson Spencer Robison and Brian Leach Even though these Japanese boys aren’t LDS they have attended church services with their foster families Their stay in Kanosh has been a great experience to all Dr appt and they also visited with Edna Christensen who is in the Mountainview Hospital at Payson Gordon and Carol Shaw and son and daughter spent Saturday in Salt Lake City on business The infant daughter of Ken and Jeanette Skeem was blessed and given the name of Stephanie Sue by her father at Fast & Testimony Meeting Congratulations to Warren and Judy Peterson on the biith of their new daughter She was born July 24 in Salt I ake City Also to Mrs Jeff on the at rival of their new daughter born July 31 Lorin and Beulah Rowley are rejoicing over the arrival of a new grandOn July 26 a baby girl was daughter born to Stewart and Kathy Rowley of Oak City Millard County Fair was held Aug 7 8 9 at Deseret There was a large crowd in attendance and a lot of fancy it was work was on on Sat Aug 9 at the Kanosh City Park Juanita’s five daughters were with their familiy members especially thankful to have her well enough to be released from the hospital for a few hours to join her family on this special occasion and which she seemed to enjoy very much The group were kept entertained with volleyball pitching horseshoes and enjoying the convenience of the nice tables under the Pavilion as they played Bingo where prizes were given Following a delicious barbecue beef dinner with all the trimmings Melan-n- i and Kevin Lang supervised a treasure hunt for children up to 8 years old followed by a treasure hunt planned and supervised by Glen and Lilly Whitaker for 8 years and up which necessitated the use of automobiles This took the hunters to places in Kanosh where the Charlesworth sisters had lived before and after their marriage along with homes of their Charlesworth and Abraham parents or then up to the cemetery grandparents to graves where their ancestors are
