List acceptable solutions and let them choose one Let them offir their own solutions Assist them in valuating the way the problem was solved Build by allowing children to do for themselves those things they can do even if it’s not done as well as you could do it Be supportive without being too hasty to help In giving praise be sincere and specific "You read the whole book in just a week!” Help children understand that they are responsible for their own feelings People can choose how they will feel and how they will respond to any situation in their lives Parents who choose to help their children develop responsibility will find it goes with self esteem Guardsmen train at Strawberry Reservoir SONYA by 2nd Lt Nathan Sorensen About 700 members of the Utah National Guard converged on Strawberry Reservoir recently to perform a public service as part of their annual training American Engineers from Provo Fork Murray Nephi Delta Mt Pleasant Vernal and Springville spent two weeks working in north eastern Utah The Guardsmen members of the 1457th Engineer Battalion and 16th Engineer Company teamed up to build roads and help save spawning grounds while sharpening their military skills “An explosion of activity” is how one Guardsman described the training period which ended June 27 The men practiced demolition by blowing up a bridge that was a potential safety hazard to boaters The bridge would have eventually been covered by water and boaters would be unable to see it so officials decided to have it removed Guardsmen also demonstrated demolition techniques to civilians during an open house day Future recruits had the opportunity to abserve explosions fire weapons and ear Army meals with the military personnel EBNER Daughter of Editha Ebner DOREEN Ken PORTER Daughter and Juvene of Porter SUSAN DEBRA TOPHAM Daughter of Ken and Opal Topham WARDLE Daughter of Allen and Julia Wardle Craters from the explosives will be filled with water and become breeding ponds for wildlife Uinta National Forest Supervisor Roy Daniels said “This will help make Strawberry Reservoir In addition to the demolition work the engineers used heavy equipment to do grading work and build roads One detachment from the 116th in Engineering group headquartered Springville was dispatched to Camp Williams to complete improvements on an airstrip Col Donald C Cole Base Commander at Camp Williams said the airstrip will enhance the effectiveness of the camp “The strip will make a very realistic for air force training environment pilots and our own airborne jump school" he said After finishing the work at Camp Williams and winding down the activities at Strawberry Reservoir the National Guardsmen will return to their hometowns Their weekend drills will be spent cleaning and repairing equipment and training will begin for another two week outing next year The first newspaper printed on a train was the Weekly Herald a single sheet printed on both sides It was issued by Thomas Alva Edison and the first known issue was dated Port Huron Michigan February 3 1 862 Dear John Everyone seems to have a favorite list that helps them rope with life This Is mine I hope you can use It AND OSTENTATIOUS INTREPID UNIVERSAL TWELVE RULES TO LIVE BY If you open it close It 2 If you turn It on turn it off 3 If you unlock It lock It 4 If you move it pul it back 5 If it belongs to someone else and you want it gel permission 6 If you borrow it return it 7 If you don’t know how to operate it leave it alone lake care of it 8 If you use it 9 If you break it repair it call someone 10 If you can’t fix it who can clean It up 11 If you mess it up someone's it 12 If will brighten day SAY IT!
