Lyman's first book A Rost” is the story Cordell Anderson's in work great Guatemala The present book is a general history of Indian Missionary work He tells of the trials and tribulations suffered by the Indian people in North Central and South America He relates the stories of persecution and abuse toward them by the white men and their governments He Or “As of xLl shows the stumbling blocks missionaries had from early days of the church until now Current missionary programs are explained Dr Lyman was raised in Delta and has worked as a general practitioner and surgeon in Delta for 35 years He has also practiced in Arizona and Guatemala He was the founder of AVUDA and established their first medical mission program in Guatemala in 1969 Dr has also authored Lyman several Lyman family history hooks All these books are for sale at local bookstores and at Dr Lyman's office in Delta (£ si y- 4v Eleanor Skidmore Lyman Vivian Ivie Olsen 89 passed away in Seaside California November 25 1985 She was born in Scipio Utah May 10 1896 Vivian was the seventh of 15 children born to Edwin and Lettie Ivie Surviving are two brothers Iliff Ivie of Afton Wyoming and Wallace Ivie of Scipio Utah She was married to the late Grant Lamar Olsen November 16 1916 in the Manti Temple The mother of three children Wilma Ponds of Salem Oregon Jay Olsen of Salina Utah and Ivie Peterson of Seaside California she was blessed with seven grandchildren She spent most of her adult years in later moving to Salt Lake Scipio City The last years she lived in Seaside California with her daughter Ivie and family Interment will be in the Scipio Cemetery Funeral services will be held Friday November 29 1985 at am in the Scipio LDS Chapel where friends may call from 10 am until the time of the services With the passing of Clark Lovell Oi k City has lost a quiet faithful he was giant To his contempories known as a bashful man who was denied some of the blessings of life because of poor was more learned than those with college degrees he was rich in laith love and testimony of the gospel vet he had very little of earthly riches and although poor in health he was a hard worker t o Ins neiees and nephews he and his sister ulu had bonding power which gave them the title of being honored and blessed parents Their pure faith and pei feet knowledge bonded this adoption process and this aunt and beheld a faithful and loving posteri-tI his bonding was evident among his neiees and nephews as they! ook cate of his physical needs as his health detenorated in the last years ach neice or nephew felt it a blessing to leturn the love that he had This love was given to them bv dcmonstiaied and grandneices giundiiephews also He took pleasure in the fact that his name had been perpetuated Temple He died July 23 1966 She received her education at the Millard Academy in Hinckley Utah After her marriage she lived in Delta until moving to Heber City in 1967 She moved to Orem in 1976 She
