California visited their son Tim Tuttle -law Ruth Ann and their three in Livermore Califorgrandchildren nia They spent one day in San Francisco and also spent time at Lake Tahoe Coming through Fallon Nevada on their way home Roena gave Dathel Whitaker a ring at her son Mike’s home to ask how she and her families were Dathel and Willard Whitaker left on Wed Sept 4 for Fallon Nevada where Dathel helped out in the home of their son Mike whose wife Cindy needed to follow doctor’s orders to stay down and take it easy for a few weeks which would be difficult with two small children Willard returned home the next day Dathel enjoyed helping out with her grandchildren in both her sons Mike’s and John’s homes Max and Eva Whitaker came to visit while she was there and showed them pictures of the new home they had purchased in West Valley City and were planning to move there in the near future It was announced at Stake Conference in Fallon that Bernice Whitaker Sorensen had received a new calling as the Stake Primary President Dathel returned home on Sept 22 with Lee and Leslie Price of Meadow Utah Glen and Lilly Whitaker their Melanni Lang and her daughter husband Kevin recently returned from a trip to San Diego Calif where they helped Lilly’s sister Roberta pack and move her household goods and furniture from San where Roberta Diego to Fillmore and children are making their home While in Calif they took in a little which included a visit sightseeing to the beach and also into Tiajuana Clark Crook Norman George Chad Sherri and Doug Melody Whitaker drove to Las Vegas Nev to attend the wedding of their friend Kent Bender and his bride Beth on Sept 21 Kent has spent a lot of time in Kanosh either for a visit or helping Melvin Whitaker on the farm A very successful party and with the Asians Lamanites Mexicans and Stake Spanish Seventies Group Leaders with their was held at the lst4th partners Ward Chapel in Fillmore on Sept 19 A delicious chicken barbecued with all the trimmings supper was served to nearly 125 people With John Cooper as master of ceremonies a very interesting program was enjoyed by all Steve and Martha Stott entertained with their musical talent being used and enjoyed more and more as time goes on On Sept 23 the East Millard Faculty and their partners held their Opening Social there which included a Dutch oven supper served to around 50 people and professionally cooked by Fay Calvin Kevin Kesler and Charles and Winnie Williams with Robyn Kesler in charge of the evening’s entertainment Musical selections were presented by Steve and Martha Stott and enjoyed by all Marguerite and Arlo Harris were having happy to be home again been away for nearly three months Calif They were in Camarillo watching after the home of their son Michael George and his wife Linda Gaye who with their three children were on a trip to Europe for two months While the Harris’ were there mother Marguerite’s Minnie Bell Fisher passed away A lovely funeral service was held with over 100 family members in attendance Minnie Bell was a of Brigham Young She started the first DUP organization going on in that area so many of her DUP friends were also at her funeral services In April 1985 all family members of Minnie Bell and others gathered her 99th to help her celebrate birthday the While away from home funeral serHarris' also attended vices for reception for the newlyweds was held in Tennessee Edgar Whitt from Sandy who has spent most of the summer here with parents Mrs Burton Lovell and helping brother J B with the farm work has returned to his school teaching duties but he and wile Shannon and children were ail here for niece Rosie’s reception as was uncle Ted Nielson and daughter Joan and 3 children of Delta Congratulations to Steve Lovell for being the Outstanding Rural Elementary Teacher of the Year for his outstanding work with under achievers and under privileged individuals Good big hearted kind and compassionate Steve sure deserves this honor First Ward Sacrament Meeting was conducted by Bishop William Dutson A very large crowd attended this meeting as it was a farewell for Elder David Harris who will be serving his
