reading mascot at Fillmore Elementary announced the formation of his Chip R Munk Summer Reading Club for the second year The club is open for membership to anyone who will be a student at Fillmore Elementary School next Fall to the chipmunk According students keep track of their reading activities on a special form which received during the last students week of school The forms are also available from the Bookmobile the Fillmore and the at Library elementary school Students can qualify for one of three awards They include the Order of the Bronze Acorn the Order of the Silver Oak and us all from cooking There were around 160 boys participating and many den leaders uibmasters committee people parents and den chiefs helping out The boys were able to take part in 8 diffeent activities They played kick hall learned how to shoot marbles ran and painted a real neat obstacle course neckerchief slides They learned how to shoot BB guns bows and arrows and wrist rockets They also ran a knot typing relay race They received a colored bead for each station they completed successfully to put on their Utah Parks Council neckerchief slides A fun day was had by all The District Committee would like to thank all the people that helped us out at each of the stations the council office for supplying most of the materials and to Delta City Parks and Recreation for the use of the
