for 3A schools Delta High a 2A school was invited to the 3A meet because 2A schools do not have a region swim meet Sean Lindsay & Jay Paulman both seniors at Delta High & both lifeguards at the West Millard Community Pool represented Delta in fine style They competed against swimmers representing Spanish Fork Payson Cedar City Springville Provo Mountain View Timpview and Orem all 3 A schools Jay competed in the 100 meter breaststroke & placed 7th out of a large field of swimmers and took 14th in the 50 meter freestyle Sean swam in the 100 meter freestyle & 50 meter freestyle and placed 2nd in both events & in both events he almost beat out last year’s returning 3A state champion Both Sean & Jay have very good chances at a state swimming title this year Jay & Sean are now looking forward to cans and old newspapers The purpose of the project is to raise enough money to buy a computer for the third grade Parents and other members of the community have helped by donating their aluminum cans old newspapers and there have even beep a few unsolicited cash donations This has enabled the third grade to raise almost half of the funds needed to reach their goal They hope to raise the full amount by Christmas There has been a lot of hard work involved for the third grade It is not unusual to see students students their recesses spending aluminum cans flat or smashing Students have bundling newspapers also had to flex their muscles in carrying heavy stacks of newspapers from donors’ cars to the bundling area Anyone who has old newspapers or aluminum cans is invited to donate them to the elementary school If you have a substantial amount of newspapers or aluminum cans to donate please call the school and someone will come at to pick them up Newspapers are bundled in
