With the addition of new buildings and the incorporation of new academic programs, Dixie State University has made improvement category, but more impressively, ranked seventh in the Top Public Schools Regional Colleges West category. DSU also ranked the highest among all public institutions in Utah in any category. The rankings take into account factors such as academic standards, retention and graduation rates, tuition cost, and student excellence. "Our team has worked tirelessly to expand and improve the academic offerings and student-lif- e after improvement over the last few years and it's safe to say it has finally paid off. These lists, broken down into categories, are aimed at providing prospective students with a way to narrow down their search for colleges, and can be broken down into different categories which include state, region and types of institutions. DSU was ranked twenty-sixt- h in the Regional Colleges West experience at DSU, and we have done so at an unprecedented rate," DSU President Biff Williams said. "To be ranked the highest among all state colleges in any category for our state is the direct result of this combined effort and we could not be more pleased." Christian Dwyer, a junior biology major from Laguna, California, is the founder and CEO of Cold Blooded Science, a private breeding facility for rare and exotic reptiles. Dwyer founded Cold Blooded Science in 2012, and said he got the name from the reptiles he works with and one of his main interests: science. The company's focus is the conservation of rare and exotic reptiles through captive breeding programs and educational shows, Dwyer said. In addition, he said the company sells some of the offspring from their breeding pairs. The reptiles are housed in a large, specialized habitat, Dwyer said. He said carefully labeled terrariums and containers hold everything from Mexican beaded lizards and helmeted geckos to green anacondas and ball pythons.
