Jensen is Dixie's senior center from Centerville. Before playing two years for DSC he played one year at Utah Valley University, one year at Salt Lake Community College, and played all four years at Viewmont High School. Jensen averaged 19 points per game in high school and was a First-Teaselection in 2005. At UVU he appeared in 28 games, and at SLCC he started 27 games averaging seven points and four rebounds while shooting 53 percent of the field as a sophomore. As a junior at Dixie State he started 20 of the 29 games played and averaged 7.1 points and 3.6 rebounds. He had a season high of 13 points m All-Sta- te against Notre Dame de Namur University, had seven rebounds in a game seven times, and had three straight double-digit scoring games in December. Teammate Derek Owen, a junior biology major from St. George, said Jensen is a hard worker. He is always the kind of person who will give 110 percent, Owen said. Teammate Griffon Jones, a senior integrated studies major from Cheney, Wash., said his greatest talents are the way he competes and his hard work. He is competitive and has a great work ethic, Jones said. He always holds his own no matter who he's playing with. Jensen can not only play the post position, but can also successfully shoot the ball. He can shoot and be a great post, Owen said. It's a deadly vU fr i.v wvnnwvn combo. If there is South Park episode that needs to be requoted he has got it down to a T. He can ways make us laugh. Working together makes a team united, but Jensen works on that off the court as well. He has a funny sense of humor, Jones said Our sense of humor very similar so we can get some funny stuff going. The team appreciates much of Jensen's hard work and all he does, I have enjoyed my two years playing with him. Jones said. The Red Storm (8-played to a 1 record in the Golden State and averaged 74 points per game while holding their opponents to an average of 60 points per game. The DSC women tipped o'ff their road trip on Thursday, Jan. 3 in San Francisco against the Urban Knights of Academy of Art University. The Red Storm struggled early and AAU built an eight-poilead going into halftime. "We just came out flat from the beginning," n head coach Angela said. "It took us about 30 minutes to really get into the game." But Dixie refused to go down easy. The Red Storm battled back into the game and lead took a seven-poiwith eight minutes remaining after senior guard Shanae Vaifanua made a layup off an assist from junior forward Qorreah Joicc. The game went back and forth following the layup and the teams traded baskets throughout the second half. The Urban Knights slowly crept back into the game and regained the lead with only 24 seconds remaining. 4, Unfortunately, the Red Storm never led in overtime. The Penguins jumped to a lead and a late seven-poicomeback bid fell short for Dixie. When the clock hit figures as Dixie capped an 85-7- 2 victory. "The girls came out very focused in this game," Kristensen said. "From the moment the ball was tipped they were ready to go.
