Show tr Stanton Roseman and Ciara Denison Malorie McArthur and Jeff Watson Candidates speak views for presidential elections held Wednesday and Friday debate Thursday at noon for remaining two teams. BY KAILEE HEGER Dixie Sun Staff Writer Student body elections have taken over the campus this week and the votes electing the next Dixie State College student body president and vice president will soon be counted. DSC students can vote today in the primary elections to eliminate all but two of the candidate parties. Voting booths will be set up between the library and the McDonald building from 8 a m. to 2 p.m. Students can show any form of picture ID to vote. A campus debate will take place at noon in front of the Gardner Center on Thursday. The two remaining parties will be asked questions regarding issues such as what they hope to accomplish if elected at DSC. Afterward, students will have the opportunity to ask their future president and vice president other questions. Final elections will finish the week on Friday. Once again, students can vote from 8 a m. to 2 p.m. The final results will be announced at approximately 4 p.m. CRONK & JONES Tony Cronk and Chris Jones want to make Dixie State College the place to be. As one of four parties running for office' they said if elected, they would work to increase the quality and quantity of student activities. We love this school and are proud to be Rebels, they said. Cronk is a sophomore business major from St. George. He is curClubs rently the vice president of the ASDSC Executive Council. His freshman year he was also a member of the Inter-collegiat- e Dixie Activities Council. Jones is currently a member of Dixie Activities Board under the direction of the student life vice president of the ASDSC Executive Council. He is a freshman pre- dental major from St. George. Cronk and Jones both said they enjoy being a part of the student government and want to continue to make a difference for the student. body. "We know how to have fun and bet the job done," they said. If elected, they said they have the courage to stand up to administrators to tell them what students really want. Roseman and Denison plan to battle issues students at DSC now face. They want to fight topics such as the increase of student fees and the removal of scholarships. They said they hope to improve communication to students about upcoming activities and events on campus', as well as in the full-tuitio- n r, Roseman is a junior business administration major from Spanish Fork. He is the of the Dixie Sun newspaper. He served as the public relations chair in ASDSC in 2002. Denison is a freshman communication major from Alpine. She is currently a DSC Ambassador. She was also a member of the editor-in-chie- f Alpine City Youth Council Roseman said his experience vision has given him an of what DSC needs "I decided to run to help students feel the gratitude I have for Dixie and utilize my knowledge of past and current events to lead them, Roseman said.
