All in all the horror flick style of the film (which was directed by Francis Ford Copolla) made it more like the Texas Chain saw Massacre or Friday the 13th than the modern-da- y Scream. Jeepers Creepers takes itself seriously, but not so seriously that it doesn't have a few moments of humor for those paying attention. ol Jeepers Creepers. cek! .. Played by Gina Phillips and Justin Long, Trish and Darry discover the real meaning of "the long way home." When Darry sees someone, or something, throwing what looks like a body bag into a drainpipe at an abandoned church. The two college students go back to sec what was going on. They make some nasty discoveries in the basement of the church, and decide to go to the police. When the police fall helpless and the neighbors are worthless, a psychic steps in to give a little direction. Played by Patricia Belcher, she enlightens the siblings on just what the creature wants from them, but what could it be? The beginning of Jeepers Creepers was terribly frightening, and stayed that way until the audience actually saw the "Creeper." His costume was fairly unbelievable. Were it not for the way he sniffed his victims like prime rib straight from the grill or sewed them together after killing them, his scary- - SMo Credit-W- champ. a Although cannot film portray someone's life story in three hours, the directors did a very good job of touching on all aspects of the champs life. It mentioned his love life, the drama in changing his name, and showed three of his biggest career fights. Overall I was on the edge of my seat throwing jabs, just like the champ, waiting for the next fight scene. Although this film had it all: love, drama, and action, it hasnt been very popular among the ladies that have seen it. o Mo r see it! Former tennis star Richie (Luke Wilson) had a notorious break down during a big match and has been wandering aimlessly via boat. And Chas (Ben Stiller), who was a young entrepreneur, has reacted to the death of his wife by being ridiculously paranoid about his two sons safety and how they react to emergencies. None of the kids have spoken to Royal lately and that is fine by them; because Royal is, in fac,t a rather horrible person. We see in the prologue, as a father, he was always rude, dismissive and clearly played favorites (Richie got special treatment while Chas and Margot were ignored most of the time.) When Royal needs a place to stay, he decides to attempt a reconciliation with his family. What better way to gain sympathy,, he figures, then he throws in a nice big lie and tells them he is dying. Soon, a series of circumstances find all three of the children also returning home. For the first time in ages, the Tennenbaums are all living together. The movie holds together more often then not due to the strength of the character of Royal. Royal is hysterical. Hes mean and crude, but not without a pretty good amount about who he is. Hackman of is wonderful in this pivotal role. This is his fourth film in less then a year, and its amazing to see what good work he constantly does. But its this film that really lets him shine and its to his credit that he makes Royal so awful and yet still endearing and funny. This movie is one of my favorites. It is tragic, yet hilarious. I laughed throughout the whole movie, but found myself question ing the reason for this laughter. At times felt quality for laughing at the parts of the movie that I did. I would recommend this movie to anyone who asked me. ss Crystal Baker, Opinion Editor 1 . tic feelings for her known, and the Tennen baum home becomes a very busy, interesting place.
