Johnston johnston 3 jpeltzinfowest.com Bike Awarded to Snack Raelynne Loudon and Jennifer Peltz infowest com The Dixie College Broadcast Club will present two films in honor of the late actor Chris Farley today at 7 pm in the Dunford Auditorium. Two of Farley's greatest hits "Tommyboy" and "Black Sheep" will be shown as a double feature. Admis- sion is $3, and proceeds will go towards the Broadcast Club trip. Advisor of the Broadcast Club, Cory Clyde, with the Community Education Channel, believes the students enjoy the movies and it is a good fundraiser for the club. "We've done 'Movie Night' in the past and thought we'd do a tribute to Chris Farley," Clyde said. "Some of die students suggested showing more recent films and we thought these would be good." Deb Clifford of Loganville, Nevada, was awarded a Schwinn bike for winning the snack bar sponsored by Bicycles Unlimited and Swan foods on Monday. A mother of four, Clifford is currently a junior in the education program through Southern Utah University at the University Center on the Dixie College campus, with 18 credits this semester. "I have teenagers at home that are really looking forward to getting the bike," said Clifford with a smile. The drawing has been done every quarter for the past one and a half years, according to Director of Food Service George Whitehead. Every time a person bought a pizza from the snack bar, they received a ticket. New Medical Classes Begin Jan. Mike Sherwood jeromeinfowest. com By The Office Administration Department is adding new classes next semester, which begin Jan. 11, in order to meet with the community demand. Three new classes are being offered to supplement the current classes. All of the classes deal with working in a medical office. The three classes are: Medical Terminology, Medical Billing and Coding, and Medical Office Procedure. NEWS BRIEFS r Once it was filled out, it went into the By ; Bar-Goe- drawing. "Some people had over 30 tickets entered," said Whitehead. Last year, there were students with over 300 tickets. With over 2,000 tickets entered this year, Clifford won the drawing with only one or two tickets. is Another drawing scheduled in February, according to Whitehead. The Dixie College Bookstore is also planning a drawing of their own, with another Schwinn bike, worth approximately $400, as the prize. Every time a student goes into the bookstore from Dec. 14 to 17 for the "Book Buy Back" sale, they receive a ticket. "The more books we can get benefits tire students and the bookstore," said Bookstore Manager Randy Judd. "Sometimes students think their books aren't worth anything, but they are." The cafeteria will be closed after lunch on Dec. 17 and will reopen Sun., Jan. 10 for dinner. The Snack Bar will close at 5 pm on Fri., Dec. 18 and will reopen Mon., Jan. 4. Applications for graduation ars currently being accepted. "A lot people have been calling and asking if we are going to have classes." These classes are mainly geared towards people who are currently working in offices, but want to special- ize in the medical field.
