Show April 1, 1997 The Dixie Sun Page 3 Board of Trustees meet By VAL BEYER the dixie sun The Dixie College Board of Trustees met Thursday, March 20, discuss various issues of interest to the college. First on the agenda human resources issues were covered, such as new hires to the college as well as revisions of standing policies, including the Harassment and Discrimination Policy. Changes include discouraging romantic or sexual relationships between college employees and other employees or students over whom the employee has authority. According to Human Resources Director Debra Bryant, harassment is usually a matter of miscommu-nicatioto n. The steps of reporting and investigating discrimination and harassment are now simpler and clearer to quickly and easily clear up misconceptions. Later, the Academic Council Program discussed topics such as an update on the Master of Business Administration program Utah State University is offering here at Dixie College, which now has 27 students accessing the program, according to Max Rose, vice president of Academic Development. Also covered was a report on the progress in gaining nursing and paramedic programs and a report on the semester conversion project. The Community Education Channel was a topic of interest at the meeting, as was the Tel Com Fair, both of which hopefully excite the student body as well. Near the end of the meeting, Dixie College Employee of the Year was introduced Mike Reynolds, a night security officer. All in all, things are looking bright with promise for the future here at Dixie, and with a little luck and determination, things should get even brighter.
