The 230 pound Parrish finished his career at Dixe ie as the leading scorer and was named the Most Valuable Player of the National Junior College Basketball Tournament. He was also named first team as a sophomore, and honorable mention as a freshmen, the only two-tim- e player in Dixie College history. REBEL NOTES The Athletic Department decided not to let the Rebels play their final two games of the season (vs. CNCC in Range-ly- , Colorado) because it would have been an expensive trip and the games would not have affected the leagues final standings. At last check, Dixie shortstop Mark Kleven said he was waiting on an offer from a 21-1- 9 Major League team and was considering playing for Southern Illinois University next season. The Salukis play in the highly com- petitive Missouri Valley Con- ference. The Rebels finished the season with a 9 record wich included a mark in league play. Final- ly, Rebel righthander Rick Massey received a big sur- prise this past week when Brigham Young University baseball coach Gary Pullins called and asked Massey to come up to Provo and pitch for the Cougars next season.
