Show ttittHimiii Page 6 DIXIE SUN January 11, 1984 Inflight Service highlights program for 1985 Dixie College is very reputable for its flight attendant program. The 35 girls enrolled in one of the Inflight Service classes, are known as the HiLites. These girls are recognized for their extensive service at various activities around the campus. They are involved in all of the Inter Club Council activities and serve at many banquets for Dixie College Food Service. The HiLites sponsor a number of fund raising activities during the year which includes: a dance, and several bake sales. The resulting profits go toward the Inflight Service scholarship fund. The HiLites students are required to purchase an offical airlines uniform and they perform their services. Two years ago the flight attendance program was changed from a two year to a one year program and is for sophomores only. To be eligible for the program, a student must have completed a Business Resources Certificate during hisher freshman year. Upon incompletion of the certificate terviews are scheduled for those wanting to apply for the Inflight Service program. Sherree Tammon, president of HiLites, Kathy Bruton, Janice Cram, Lynette Edwards, Lisa Larsen, Amy Monia, Janette Neptune, Lori Peter- son, Wendy Stapley, and Heather Wieshlow are the sophomores enrolled in the program this year. On November 19th, after touring the Salt Lake International airport facilities, a banquet was held at the Airport Hilton, At this banquet the girls received their wings. Amy Monia was honored with a special award for her superior service. In February, a trip to the Las Vegas airport is planned, and tours of both Trans World Airlines and United Airlines faculities will be taken. On January 30, four graduates from the IFS pro gram, who are currently working for major airlines will return to Dixie for an advisory committee meeting-Fre- d Wall, Dawn Thrun, Debbie Anderson, and John Saxton. Unbelievable as it may seem, Donald Duck is fifty years old... As one of my favorite childhood people, Donald entertained many of us with his crazy antics and unforgettable pranks. He is one of Holleywoods most famous Academy Awards nine times and have won one Oscar. He has performed live with the puppet version of Donald in hundreds of childrens hospitals and schools in the United States.
