On that impressive note, Coach Neil Roberts said, Im extremely proud of this team. There wasnt a team back there that played as hard as we did. Ill take the sixth spot in the nation anytime. The Rebels started things off against Mercer College and came out on top by In that game, forward a score of Chris McMullin set a NJCAA record that may stand in the books for a long time to come. McMullin hit for 39 points as he shot 29 of 29 free throws, the most ever in a single game of the tournament. McMullin also led the tournament in total scoring with 95 points. 90-8- Eaftioiro bets In the second round of action, the Rebels lost narrowly by a score of 82 85 to Midland, Texas. Tne Rebel team won the game 86-8lead at the half. a 44-3- 3 ourgsb 2 Intramural Softball Begins The College Intramural Softball League opened up their season last Tuesday and Thursday. The games will be played below the tennis courts for the remainder of the season. The 12 teams in the league will play on either Tuesday or Thursday, beginning at 4:00 p.m. and each game will last one hour. Three games will be played each night. The girls intramural teams will play on Wednesday nights following the same schedule. Girls are encouraged to set up teams as there are only three girl teams thus far. Any girls wanting to play should contact Coach Norton. There are only a few qualifications that must be met in order to play: Athlete Of The Week , f I I I i I I i i Each player must have some kind of insurance. Teams may add new players for - play- offs. There must be 12 to 14 people on a team. No profanity will be allowed (This one is a biggy). Each player must demonstrate sportsmanlike conduct: and players must stay on the same team. Those wandng to know more about the intramurals should contact Dave Derrick or Coach Norton.
