He hopes that the Senate and the administration will help the students like the Constitution. As he put it, "I feel that the success of this year, will depend largely on the effectiveness of the new constitution, and also on how well the Senate and executive bodies work together to complete it and make totally workable for the benefit of all Dixie College." IcAtkin cTidusid INTO PSYCHOLOGY INSIGHTS A new Executive Council has taken over the student government helm at Dixie College. Tom Seegmiller, a sophomore from St. George, is studentbody President. Fie may be planning on a law degree. Seegmiller is on the Residents' Council, an organization where President Losee and the other leaders of the college meet and discuss various problems pertaining to Dixie College. The Studentbody President to submit a the power studentbody budget and officiate at the council meetings. Seegmiller also has the power to appoint committees and officiate over their jobs. Seegmiller says that his most important job is to "represent and support the views of the students." Another member of the Executive Council is Dell Gardner, a sophomore from Heber, the Vice Resident. Gardner is president of Student Senate, chairman of the Election Committee, and substitutes for the Student-bodPresident when he is absent. The Vice President is interested in athletics but says he is too involved in student government to go out for a sport. Music and drama are his other interests. Garner says that Dixie College is "going to have a great year." Special Events Chairman is Ernie Farnsworth, a sophomore from Sandy, Utah. Farnsworth is in charge of special weeks and assemblies such as Freshman Orientation and Welcome Week. The Special Events Chairman says she hates getting up in the morning but loves horses, poetry, and art. Gates Shiner, a sophomore from Coalinga, California, is the Organizational Chairman.
