To get things started, I intend to make a brief introduction of each of these fine people. Bruce Marshall, Sophomore Class President, is 21 years old and is from Boise, Idaho. He graduated from Meridian High School, in Meridian, Idaho, where of Drama he was Club, and was active in Debate, and Boys Federation. He then attended Dixie College for a year and became active in Sigma Gamma Chi and Debate. He then spent two years in Arizona, serving a mission for the LDS Church. Bruce is now back at Dixie, majoring in Business and Political Science, and is serving as Pre sident of Shenandoah Club and of Rebel Boys Rousers. He is also active in Sigma Gamma Chi, Delta Psi Omega, AMS Council, Program Bureau, and Radio Club He is working on the newspaper staff and as one of the Dixie Cheerleaders. When asked why he chose Dixie, he reply was, Why not1 Bruce said he would like to promote more activities in the Sophomore class and try to bring back some of the school spirit that used to be at Dixie. is Sophomore 19 year old Christie Munsen from Las Vegas, Nevada She attended Clark High School where she participated in the Corlinaires Marching Team, Chargerettes Christies reason for attending ooo oooo dTnnnnnnnnnnnnnnrotnrirooirtr&innroooTrtnnr&s Therapy. Because Dixie is where happiness is. Everyone is so friendly, its just like one big happy family1 While here, she Prohas been active in gram Bureau, Lamdba Delta Sigma and the Sociability Committee. She hopes to become an Airline Dixie was, Stewardess. Christies objective this year Have more student inis to, volvement and better communications so students will know whats happening Brea, California has furmshed us with the bubbly, 19 year old, Jody Clark for Sophomore Sec. She attended Sonora High where she was Secretary of the Drill Team, Secretary of the choir and of the seminary. She was also active in Art Club and Pep Club. She claims to have been in- to come to Dixie, and once here became active in folk club, program bureau, and taught a Relief Society class in her college ward. This year she is the President of Folk Club, is on the LDSSA Executive Council, and is a member of program bureau. Jody wants to serve a mission for the LDS Church, and then become an Interior Decorator. Jody hopes to make this a fun year and help the Sophmores get the Dixie Spirit. Im really enthused about getting it together1 Freshman Class President, Richard Kevin Robinson was born in Delta, Utah, but has lived most of his life in San Diego, California . He graduated from James Madison High School with the class of 70. He attended 4Vi years of seminary and was seminary class president his junior and senior years He was a member of Concert Choir and had the lead in the school production Bye Bye Birdie. At this time he was very active in church affairs I chose Dixie because I felt St. George would be a good environment for study Also, I enjoy the smalltown influence. and Kevins major is he is planning on attending Dixie for two years, and then hes hoping to serve a mission for the LDS Church. He would then like to continue his education at Dental School in San So far, I am most Francisco impressed in how the instructors of professors are all happy to help you in any way and take a personal interest in each individual, then to look at the affect on the majority Freshman student body. This office will be just as effective as I make it. And I give my word that through working together we can make this year at Dixie a memorable one. Neil Whimpey, Freshman Class lS 18 years old and hails from Lehl, Utah, where he attended Lehl High School While in high school, Neil served as ASB Program Chairman, of Thespians, and was the Freshman Class He was active in National Forensics, played the drums in the band, and represented his school at Utah Boys State. This year he is a member of program bureau, Rebel Rousers and is working for membership m Delta Psi Omega. Here on a Theatre Arts Scholarship, Neil decided to come to Dixie because, I talked to kids who had been here and it sounded great' When asked what he hoped to accomplish this year, he said, I want the freshman class to do something and be known for doing it1 Freshman Class Secretary iS year old Glenna Jones from San Diego, California. She attended Hill Top High School where she was active in Lance and Pennon (a service organization), Erudites (a group which sponsors foreign exchange dents), and pep club. Glenna decided to cornet Dixie because, There are to many radicals at California co leges and I wanted a strong foundation. She is an art majT and hopes to either teach dea children or become an occup tional therapist.
