Whatever or whoever is snubbing it down to a High School level needs to be straightened out. College is where young adults go to learn about the world they live in. It seems to me the Administration thinks we students are not capable of making decisions. The reason; if something controversial comes up, a new rule is made to help us make up our minds. We have got to leam to think sometime. Someday this is going to be our world. We are going to inherit problems we didnt create. Its time we had a beginning in expressing our ideas and intelligently thinking of ways to improve the status quo. Who or what at this institution has the right to stifle such an inalienable right? A concerned but stifled student. Dateline: Dixie Last week you students were challenged to take action and write to Hanoi. You were asked to write the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, and ask them to release the names of the men they are holding as prisoners. Regardless of the way you feel about the war, the fate of these men is our moral responsibility. To the wives, children and parents of these men who wait and hope, this is a big deal. How many of us can honesdy say we take an interest in world affairs? How many of us know what is going on outside of St. George? How many of us really care? Ive been told the majority of the students here at Dixie College are conservatives. I disagree, from what I have observed last quarter. Id say you are merely disinterested, disinterested in anything outside of your own small world. Have you tried to form an opinion or a view? One other than if you should attend the first or second showing of the free movies. Have you ever taken a stand on drugs, liquor or the war, or do you just sit around and discuss what the Administration is or isnt doing? Take some action! Let us know youre out there and alive! Dont be herded by the shepard of apathy, straying away with the flock of indifference. Write to Hanoi! Get other students caught up in the spirit of today. Somebody though! Anybody said Somebody will do everybody else would do it. Everybody else didnt do it. So nobody did it. For .13 you can purchase an airmail letter. Thats less than the price of a coke Is one coke worth more than a life? Deposit all your letter in the boxes located in the Sun Room, Book Store and library. DONT BE A NOBODY! TAKE ACTION! it. Office of the President Democratic Republic of Vietnam Hanoi, North Vietnam ACHTUNG!!!! The has made several efforts to return money taken in through their Book Exchange. Maybe we like to our Midi and Maxi wear clothes and get equal wages but this doesnt lesson our respect for men. Of course there are different views on this but my own is, Let the Man be Boss. In no way would I want to go to work and earn money for a family in place of having a home and children. I feel it is my role to make life easier and happier for our men (to a certain extent). I definitely believe a girl should have a career or at least an education, but after all Its a Mans World. Women, you know how men get away with murder. Almost in everything we do the men are wanted more than women. We find it impossible to complete things as jobs, drama, public offices etc. Yes, and I hate to say it, this is a Mans You must admit World. that behind every though successful man stands a wo- man. This last week weve tried to make it a Womans World and we cant say that we havent enjoyed it. However, were through now, you men can have it back. You can face all of its problems. Id rather worry about the house work. Npt all women agree of course, but I feel a womans place is in the home, teaching an caring for her children the best way she can. Weve loved having the show for a week and weve thoroughly enjoyed getting so much attention. (Which we deserve, of course) But really men, youre doing a great job and we love and appreciate you all!
