Members of Delta Psi Omega, the honorary Dramatics Fraternity at Dixie College, are currently making plans to attend a performance of the broadway musical Guys and Dolls, scheduled for Saturday, October 10, at the University of Utah in Salt-- f Lake City. Initial activity of the club, the trip is planned to give members an opportunity to see a professional or production firsthand. The group will travel to Salt Lake City via chartered bus, see a matinee performance of the musical comedy, and will be near the Ute football stadium for the came that evening. The trip is open to all members of Delta Psi Omega, primarily, but will be available to other students as space permits. Those interested in making the trip at an estimated total expense of $15 should contact Janet Schmutz, Lida Brooks, or Marion Bentley. Both college and high school students were chosen to portray the various characters in the popular broadway comedy. Cast members are: Mr. Vandergelder, Ned Ashby: Mrs. Levi (the Matchmaker), Garna Olsen; Ambrose, Tom Tisdale: Cornelius, Jeff Holland; Barnaby. Cecil Pendleton: Malachi, Mike Beard; Cabman. Interviews Available For Sociability Committee Interviews for positions on the Sociability Committee will be held next week according to Darlene Heaton, 2nd vice president. The Sociability Committee is the central body concern with promoting school spirit, activities, and furthering Dixie College on other campus in the area. The Sociability Committee has long been the backbone of campus functions. Npw and transfer students are urged to schedule an interview with President Heaton. Fifteen people will be named to head the various activities under the committee and to serve on this board. Activities sponsored by the committee include school dances, rallies, assemblies, campus tours, entertaining out of town guests, and promoting school spirit in other forms. Positions are open to both lower and upper division students. We particularly want students from outside the immediate area to apply, Miss Heaton states. We have a cosmopolitan studentbody at Dixie Col-- 1 lege, and want to take advantage of it. Miss Heaton recently returned from Sun Valley, Idaho, where she participated in the Brigham Young University Leadership Conference as part of a delegation from Dixie College. |
