L ? 'A Sbx., .w.iA Verlin Gardiner Verlin is a Junction gal who was an outstanding high school student. Among her many accomplishments during high school days, we note that she was awarded the lead in the school operetta, and the yearbook play. She was a paper staff member, member of the dance band (Moonlight Serenaders), and a state forensics meet oration and extemporaneous speaking representative. She received superior ratings for vocal solos at two regional music festivals. She was currently seen in the Susan and production college God. When quizzed about her part in the play, Verlin commented: Any resemblance between Susan Trexel and Verlin Gardiner is purely coincidental. Verlin has a weakness for dreamy music, basketball games, salads, brown eyes, and just Dixie. By the way, Verlin is not waiting for a missionary (neither is the author of this article)! Dixie likes you, too, Verlin; we are happy to have such a talented person as you at Dixie college. Congratulations on your fine performance in the play; you have earned our respect for your willingness to work so diligently with the play cast. P.S. Verlin would like to make it clear that she will not discriminate against blue eyes. . . . Ralph Peck Pioche, Nevada, gave up Ralph Peck so that Dixie College could have him for a brief stay. This was good of Pioche, for Ralph is an outstanding student. During his high school career he served as president of his seminary, played the trombone in the band, participated in Dr. Frank Aspers Northern Utah Symphony, and played a little basketball. While he completed his high school tour of duty, Ralph worked in the lead mines in Pioche. I was really surprised at the friendliness of students here. It doesnt matter what youve been, just what you are now. I mean, most places you go, what you do depends on what youve done, but I just get here BAM! Im in an assembly and a play. I seriously considered going to several colleges, but now that Im here I cant Being anywhere else, imagine quoth Ralph Peck! What would you like to do for a living, Ralph? (Ralphs roommate, Jim Gillins, appears). I dont know What do I want to be, Jim? Bigger than I, says Jim, for they sleep together! Ralph is actually considering law as his choice of professions. We were informed that Ralph likes to tell jokes; he also loves to be on the stage. Poetry, basketball, and just Dixie, intrigue him.
