The Rebels are looking forward to a very good season, as they now post a two and two s record. MARKET MARKET BASKET ; Bob Santos hails from Monroe, Utah, where he attended South Sevier where he captained the basketball team in his senior year. Bob was picked for all reigon honors, as his team won the state championship. He came to Dixie last year and was on the regular five. This year Bob is the tallest man on the team at 6 foot 6 inches, and is the Rebels top rebounder. Bob usually draws one of the toughest players to guard, and always does a good job of it. Howard Leavitt came to Dixie last year and is playing his second year as a regular. Howard comes to us from Las Vegas high school. He stands six feet high and is a good shot. Howard was a unanimous choice for captain and is well liked by everyone. Last yea rat the regional basketball playoffs at Cedar City Howard was chosen on the team for his fine showing. Dixie Flyers Beat Cedar Dixie Students Attend Redmen in - Fast Match Rafaei Mendez Concert Wednesday, January 23, the Dixie Flyers defeated the Cedar City Redmen to stay undefeated in the region 10 basketball title race. The Flyers who defeated the 7 Redmen got off to a slow 71-5- 6 start but after trailing at the end of the first quarter they 13-1- took charge and held a commandhalftime lead. ing As the second half got under way the Flyers continued to pile up the points and at one time they led by 27 points. In the fourth quarter coach Walter Brooks sent in some reserves and because the new boys were cold the Redmen gained a few points but the Flyers held on and went on to win. Carl Blake was high point man for the Flyers with 32 points as he hit from all angles. Big George Andrews was second high with 15 points.
