Opening Social in pavilion in the evening. September 17 Lambda Beta Theta commences years activities with a weiner and marshmallow roast on the Red Hill. September 28 Election of Class Officers: Class Presidents Wilford Cannon, Senior; Clell Covington, Junior; Pershing Nelson, Sophomore; and Gail Heaton, Freshmen. Senior Class Party at Veyo. September 30 First Open Forum, President Smith in charge. The combination of "D Day and Founders Day in one huge Dixie Day planned. Fine Arts Festival to be made feature of the Winter Quarter. Dessie Jones elected President of the Girls Club and McKay Neilson, President of the Boys Club. October 5 Evlyn Snow elected President of the Beaux Art Guild, with Jean Cottam, and lone Judd, Secretary. October Student Body outing at Zions National Park. Hikes are taken up Ladies Mountain, West and East Rim Trails, and Angels Landing. October 16 College football team defeats B. A. C. by score of 13 to 6. tea held by Lambda Beta Theta. Dixie High football team October 17 defeats B. A. C. High by score of 13 to 6. October 21 Leap Year Dance sponsored by Amitia Club. The girls wear the pants of the family. October 23 Tryouts for school play, direction of Mrs. Beth Schmutz. In the Garden of the Moon. Cast Naomi Fordham, Adelia Hall, Fern Starr, Norma Mathis, Maxine Hafen, LaVerd Whitehead, Champ Cuff, Ether Hastings, Rondo Ruesch, Clell Covington, Evans Woodbury, Keith Barber, and Milton Hyatt. November 20 Annual Harvest Ball held by the Dixie F. F. A. Leda Heaton is Vice-Preside- 9-- 9-- crowned Queen. November 23 Jan Cherniavsky, internationally famous pianist, presents second Lyceum number. November 27 Fall quarter closes. Honor roll for the fall quarter carries the names of the following students: Upper division; Erma Bentley, Helen Hafen, Leila Hallmark, Viron Jones, Phoebe Lytle, and Stanley Schmutz.
