Show THE DIXIE OWL Athletics D. N. C. LOSES IN A HARD FOUGHT CONTEST The D. N. C. basketeers staged a wonderful comeback' on the B. A. C. by a score of 2 to 2 which was decided by playing the tie off. Never before have two teams of this division been so The D. N. C. closely matched. the evening by caging a field throw from the center. The Dixie can only feel proud of her boys because after all it isnt to be considered as an entire defeat. C. by running a score of three ahead, and then holding it. At the end of the first half the score tied with the figures and so it kept up until near the end of the game, when B. A. C. forged ahead by one field basket and won the victory by twopoints. This gave the B. A. 0. representation in the Northern tournaments, but they were defeated by the Snow Academy with a close score of thus being eliminated in the race for the 16-1- 6 40-4- 1, state hoop title. The game' between the Dixie and B. A. C. was fast and snappy at all stages of the game. Ivins, Dixies center, caged two baskets over the B. A. C. center while the latter made none. At this point the crater was studied and the dip and the strike of the sedimentary beds to the north and west was observed. The lava flows from these two cones was found to have flowed down Johnson Canyon to within a half mile of the Santa Clara Creek, a distance of about eleven miles. On the return trip some interesting features such as Cross bedding, Erosional features revealing dip and strike of beds, the unconformity between igneous and sedimentary material, and a natural bridge were noted. Some excellent pictures were snapped by members of the party. All success to the Geology class and may we eventually find pleasure in the study of our own back dooryard.
