at Wasatch Bryant and East High public schools He attended the University of Utah where he affiliated with Sigma Chi fraternity and was a member of the varsity tennis team When World War II began Bob enrolled in the Navy Officer Training Program During the next two years the Navy sent him to Yale University Columbia University (Midshipman School) and Harvard University (Communications School) He served the remainder of in war the Pacific the Theater as an assistant communications officer aboard the escort aircraft carrier USS Wyndam Bay He graduated from the University of Missouri in 1949 Dorothy J Nielsen passed away on March 24 2004 Born August 23 1923 in Pocatello ID the eldest child and only daughter of Coral Taylor and Herman B Johnson She was raised with her three brothers in Logan below the First Dam in the house next to the family restaurant — the Canyon Inn As a young girl she spent happy summers near Preston ID on the family ranch cooking for ranch hands Her cooking was always a source of comfort and pride for her We will all remember and severely miss those great meals and how she fussed to make sure we hod enough to eat After she married Lloyd Nielsen they moved to Salt Lake with their family and in 1961 she settled into a home of her own where she was always a fastidious housekeeper and a gracious hostess Dorothy loved her family and devoted her life to caring for three Her family was her generations source of lox and purpose At eighty "Little Nana was still picking up her from school each day to help them with homework and after school treats We considered her to be beautiful sprite spunky and full of life Mom could be quite playful and charming She had a sly sense of humor that she passed on to her children She loved gardening (espedaily her roses) old movies TV mysteries and horror shows and she hod talent as an artist Her parents and her husband precede her in death She is survived by three brothers her sons Michael (Adrienne) Buckley and Jeff (Julie) Nielsen her daughter Susan Christensen nine grandchildren and eight Funeral services will be held Monday March 29 2004 at Memorial Estates Mortuary 6500 S Redwood Rd at 2:30 pm Friends may call one hour prior to services Interment: Memorial Estates Cemetery golfer Oakridg practicin fect swil days on circle of the most was his He is friend a and mot Salt Lai her husk Nickolas Way Vs their chi Lynden husband Beach A C cele held on at Our 2500 E the fami Ice at lieu of made to Our Say s s 1 Annette Bergstedt Nilsen Meacham beloved wife mother grandmother Sister aunt and friend to many dear ones passed away unexpectedly Saturday March 27 at Ogden Regional Hospital Annette was born in Salt Lake City on May 28 1937 to Sigurd Hogbart Nilsen and Hildeborg Bergstedt Nilsen Annette grew up in Layton graduated from Davis High School in 1955 She attended Utah State University and worked at Hill Air Force Base where she met the love of her life and best friend John L (Jack) Meacham Annette and Jack were married in Salt Lake City on April 9 1960 Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple Jack and Annette lived in Bountiful where they had four children until they moved to Farmington In 1979 In 1987 Annette and Jack moved to Joseph after retirement Annette later moved to Centerville to be near her after Jack passed grandchildren away Annette was a faithful wcrnber of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints all of her life She served In several callings during her membership and accepted the calling to serve in The Bountiful Temple Annette filled her role as matriarch of the family beautifully she acted as nurturer mentor teacher and friend for children her and grandchildren Annette was highly talented in making cross and stitching quilts afghans Her works are cherished by those who received them She was a friend to all she met She is survived by her children Annalisa Meacham Jennifer (Allen) Madill Andrew (Jennifer) Meacham and Deanna (Craig) Goodrich and her grandchildren that she loved so much Ann Allen Maegan Christopher Colton John Eric Andrew Sydney Ann Matthew Craig Sarah Elizabeth Jackson Her Raymond siblings brother Sigurd (Marparet) Nilsen and sisters Maria 'Tudi (Kaare) Kloogh and Karen Larsen She was preceded In death by her parents and her husband Jack Annette's presence in our family will be sorely missed We love youl The family would like to thank the employees of both Davis and Ogden Regional Hospitals for their effort and care of Annette in her final hours Thank you Funeral services will be held on Friday April 2 at 1 pm In the Centerville Chase Lane Chapel (1125 N 4100 W) There will be a viewing at Russon Brothers Mortuary ( 295 N Main Bountiful) on Thursday April 1 from 6-- 8 pm There will be a viewing one hour prior to services on Friday There will be an additional service at 1230 pm In the Elsinore LDS Chapel at 75 N Center St There will also be a viewing from 11115 am1 pm prior to the service Interment will be In the Joseph City Cemetery immediately ilkallowing the funeral Online guest book idnd direction map at wwwrussonmortuarycom Roderick Martin I Nielson 1929 -
