Folsom Tribune Garden Editor Winners of the exhibition honoring the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Utah Gladiolus Society were announced Saturday by D. C. Anderson, show chairman. The show at the Garden Club Center, 1602 E. 21st South, Sugar By House Park, will be open to the public Sunday from 10 a m. to 6 p.m. and best vase entry; longest flower head with Dairy Queen glad; and largest floret with Western Miss Glad. Paul Kochevar, 1118 W. 13100 South, Riverton, received the theme trophy for his entry of Greeley Centennial, a golden gladiolus. He also won the award for the best five spike entry with Parade, a salmon glad; best three spike also with Parade The grand champion award went to Lewis Kochevar, 4335 Noal Drive, with an entry of Parade. The reserve champion was awarded Keith and AU SIZES HOME LITE O POULAN 9 Barbara Shader, 610 N. Taft, Fort Collins, Colo. Tom Brasher, 1351 Cheyenne St. received the best patina award. Best junior entry was a single spike entry of Torchlight by John Llewellyn, 2005 W. 14200 S.. Bluffdale. KETCHUM'S 800 W. 400 S. 0.1 TV Saturn Shows Its Best Face Utahns will be able to see pictures of Saturn beamed to earth from Voyager 2 Monday through Friday at the Hansen Planetarium, by cable television or by delayed tape on KUED Channel 7. Homes with Community TV of Utah cable systems w ill be able to watch the broadcasts of the second largest planet in our solar system live on Channel 25 beginning at 6 p.m. each evening during the week. Residents without access to cable tv, can see a video tape of the broadcast at the Hansen Planetarium. That show will begin at 7; 15 p.m., on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The tapes will be replayed at Ihe planetarium continuously during operating hours. Video taping of the broadcast is made possible by Community TV of Utah, who provided the data link and KSL-Twho provided the facilities for taping. KUED Channel 7 will air a PBS broadcast of Voyager 2s rendezvous with Saturn at 11:35 p.m. Monday; at 11:53 p.m. Tuesday; at 11:50 p.m. Wednesday; at 12:57 a.m. on Thursday; and 12:20 a m. Friday. Voyager 2s photos will be beamed to NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratories in Pasadena Calif., where scientists will broadcast by satellite the discoveries of the probe. Heritage Foundation Plans 50th Meeting The Utah Heritage Foundation will hold its 50th annual meeting Sept. 1. A Renaissance Tour of restored buildings on Exchange Place will feature the Newhouse Building, New York Hotel and other buildings from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The foundation will give its annual preservation awards to individuals who have significantly contributed to historical preservation in the state during the last year. The awards, election of trustees and dinner will be held at the New Yorker Club. The 1981 award winners will include: Ezekial R. and Katherine W. Dumke; the firm of Snow, Christensen and Martineau; Mr. and Mrs. George Wilcox; Mr. and Mrs. Robert K. Clawson; Karl Haglund and Phil Notarianni; John and Linda Bonar; KALL Radio; Charles B. Casper; Russell Farr; Dale W. Bryner. Meanwhile, the foundation also announced it has received $2,500 from the Kennecott Copper Corp. corporate offices, Stamford, Conn., The grant is in recognition of Glenn P. Bakken, head of the Utah division and now on the companys board of directors. West Valley Child Drowns in Pool Special to The Tribune - WEST VALLEY CITY A West Valley City boy drowned Saturday about 5 p.m. when he strayed from his babysitter and fell in a swimming pool in his backyard. Casey Sinclair, 2654 W. Hale Circle, was pronounced dead on arrival at Valley West Hospital after attempts by paramedics to resuscitate him failed, to West according Valley Police Sgt. Terry Keefe. Jenny Sinclair, the mother, had left the boy with her sister, name unknown. Sgt. Keefe said the sister had lost track of him for about five minutes, searched the area, and found him in the pool. Stab Victim Listed Serious in Hospital A Salt Lake City man found stabbed early Friday at the New Lindsay Hotel was listed in serious condition Saturday at LDS Hospital. Police said Ronald H. Gosch, 29, a resident of the hotel at 240 S. West Temple, was found by his girlfriend in a second floor hallway with a deep abdominal stab wound. The victim told officers he was using a telephone in the hall when a fight broke out between him and an unidentified assailant. Police located boards nailed together that they believe could have been the weapon. No arrests have been reported.
