Show QUARTERLY CONFERENCE IS HELD AT ORANGEVILLE Quarterly conference of the Emery stake, held at Orangeville last Saturday Satur-day and Sunday, was one of the most enjoyable ever held in the stake, the earnest remarks made by Apostle D. O. McKay, Prsident J. W. McMurrin, Supt. H. H. Cummings of the church school system, and Prof. Arthur L. Beeley, the new prinicpal of the Emery Em-ery Stake Academy, all being specially appreciated by the large crowds in attendance at-tendance at most of the meetings of the conference. One of the best talks of the conference confer-ence was delivered at the closing session ses-sion Sunday aftrnoon when Apostle McKay laid particular stress on conditions con-ditions confronting the young men of the stake who are being called to the defense of their country, urging them to keep themselves clean above everything every-thing else. He pictured the results of unclean lives and living in the army barracks in a most vivid light, but hoped that our boys would come back pure and unsoiled by the evil on every hand. The stake and ward authorities all reported conditions both spiritual and temporal in the stake and wards as being in excellent condition with the best of prospects' for an imense harvest. Never have conditions been more propitious, according to most of the speakers. Th Orangeville choir, under the able leadership of Clyde Van Buren, was a most interesting feature of the conference con-ference and was much enjoyed. |
