Show EMERY Sunday, May 20 th was observed in Emery as Mothers day. The Sunday school gave the program as outlined in the Juvenile Instructor during the forenoon, presenting some 70 mothers with carnations. Immediately after the close of school a picture was taken of all present. The afternoon service was conducted under the auspices of the Relief society. Andrew Hansen and W. Parker have each purchased a new Ford car during the past week. The Relief society has been given the use of an acre of good land, the members of the society donated enough potatoes to plant of an acre, and, with the voluntary service of a couple of teams and a few men, the potatoes are planted and the remainder re-mainder of the land prepared to plant into beans. A number of ladies have volunteered their services, and I within a few days expect to have the beans planted also. Miss Erma Williams of Provo, a grand-daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Clark, Is visiting relatives In Emery. Miss Burr of Provo is visiting with her brother, G. M. Burr. John T. Edwards of Idaho Falls, was an Emery visitor for a couple of days last week. Mrs. Eva Klllpack of Ferron Is visiting vi-siting In Emery. Mrs. W. G. Pettey, who has been very sick for the past two months, is somewhat improved. |
