Show COMMISSIONERS MAKE TAX LEVIES FOR 1917 Board of county commissioners met in regular session last Monday and Tuesday, Tu-esday, all members being in attendance. attend-ance. N. J. Christensen of Ferron appeared appear-ed before the board asking for an e-lectric e-lectric light and power franchise and same wjis granted him. Nathaniel Crawford of Ferron appeared ap-peared before the board and asked the aid of the commission in getting rid of the grasshoppers. After discussing the matter thoroughly, it was decided to call the attention of the countyfarm demonsrator and others to the matter and urge immediate action. Edw.'G. Geary, clerk of the county-school county-school board, appeared before the board and asked that the full levy for school purposes be made. Letter from Robt. H Siddoway, relative rela-tive to cooperation in the destruction of the English sparrow, was read and filed. Carl Wilberg state road agent, met with the board and spoke concerning the application of the state road commission com-mission and Sanpete county for the , designation as a state road of the road from the boundary line of Sanpete and i Emery counties down to what is i known as Connellsville at the head of Huntington canyon. On motion of Mr. Allred, seconded by Mr. Leonard, resolution reso-lution favoring such designation was passed. Tax Levies Made m The following tax levies were made for the year 1917: General fund 2 1-2 mills Bond sinking fund 1-3 mill, Bond interest fund 1-3 mill.' Poor fund 2-3 mill School fund General 5 1-2 mills Bond interest 1 mill Bond sinking 1 mill State road fund 3 1-6 mills Total county levy.... 14 1-2 mills Total state levy 5 mills State bounty, sheep 5 mills State bounty, cattle 4 mills |
