Show THAT YOU MAY' KNOW I deem it necessary for me to make some kind of a statemont in order that I might straighten out some of the stories going about concerning my return from Camp Lewis last fall. Some of the people In the county are circulating the story that I was ordered order-ed from Camp Lewis and given a dishonorable dis-honorable discharge. Why I was or- j dered from there they do not venture, to say, but they are backing the statement Just the same. If some of these people will kindly call on me I shall be glad to show them a discharge dis-charge any person would be proud of. The record I made at Camp Lewis is one that gives me pleasure to review. While there I was acting as sergeant and the captain told me I was to receive re-ceive an early promotion. I was the first acting sergeant to drill our entire en-tire battery under the watchful eye of our captain and lieutenents. I was also the first acting sergeant to take ' my section (16 men) through the heavy gun drill before our major and captain. I shall not take up any more of Mr. Williams' valuable news 6pace, but I wish you people, who have bo much to say and would like to know the facts of my record and my reasons for returning would ' kindly consult me.
