Her condition last Tuesday was regarded as very serious, but much improvement has taken place since then. Lady Pontiac Johanna, a New York cow valued at 520,000, has just broken the world's record for butter production bv yielding 658 pounds of milk in one week from which was made 41 81-100 pounds of butter. This eclipses the former butter record by 5J pounds. Prows, first and Victor Birney, second, counselors, and Louis Hitchcock, secretary, of the Young Mens association; and Elzada Hall, president, Mary Barney, first, and Mabel Prows, second, counselors; and Ruby Hall, secretary, of the Young Ladies association. There is some talk of the remodeling of the Miller building to make a modern mod-ern theatre Luilding capable of seating some 450 people out of it. Both floors would Oe used for seating purposes and a modern stage be built in the rear. It would be fitted with steel railing and all uptodate equipment. A Icompanv will be formed for the purpose of financing fin-ancing the move if plans materialize. Castledale is badly in need of a good playhouse and some move toward this end will be endorsed by everyone. "The Blossoming of MaryAnn" came forth in good shipe last Thursday evening eve-ning before a large crowd in the town hall. This is the first Academy production produc-tion to be presented in the town hall since the Academy went up on the hill, and the big audience justified coming down. The play was well presented, every member of the cast being well l prepared and giving an excellent interpretation in-terpretation of his lines. The presentation presen-tation at Orangeville was postponed until a later date on account of the death of Mrs. Snow. Andrew Petersen, who has been out of the county for some time until last week, was placed under arrest at Mohr-land Mohr-land last Sunday and brought to the Dale to answer to a perjury charge preferred pre-ferred against him. The alleged charge grows out of his having taken the pauper's pau-per's oath in commencing an action to regain ownership of his lot on the bench ben-ch which was sold at sheriff's sale some time ago. He was arraigned before Justice J. K. Reid at Orangeville and, having waived examination, was bound over to the district court. His bond was placed at f200. |
