The Progress $2 a Year BEGINNING MARCH 1st Beginning March 1, 1918, The Progress subscription rate will be $2.00 a year, but, up to that time present and new subscribers may avail themselves of the present rate of $1.50 per year and extend their credit as far In advance as they desire, the amount to be saved by doing so being an item worth considering. Little If any explanation In the way of justification of the raise Is necessary, we take it, as It is a matter of common knowledge that everything that goes into the making of a newspaper Is many times Increased over the prices obtaining over eighteen years ago, when the $1.50 rate was first established. No farmer, stockman, stock-man, dairyman, poutryman, or storekeeper would think of accepting ac-cepting the same prices which they received even two or three years ago for their products, and no one can conscientiously deny us the small Increase of 60c. |
