Show BUILT A SIT.O AND SOLD FOUR ACRES OF CORN FOR $425 The above caption reads like a story told by a California land boomer but such is not the case. It's a Davis county story and best of all it is a true one. Last summer George Welling of Farmington, now treasurer of Davis county, contracted for a fifty-ton silo and 'planted four acres of corn with which to fill the same. On Monday of this week L. E. Ellison and Isaac Adams, of Layton, gave Mr. Welling a check for $4 25 for the contents of the silo and both parties to the deal are well satisfied. The silo cost Mr. Welling $250 and as the deal now stands Mr. Welling has the silo and $175 as the price of four acres of corn and the cost of raising and hapd-iing hapd-iing Kaysville Reflex. |
