Show CLEVELAND AND ELMO ON NEW STATE ROAD "Dolph" Axelson, Live Elmo Booster, Reminds U s of Overlooking the Matter. Means Much to People. Elmo, Utah, January 10, 1917. Emery Em-ery County Progress, Castle Dale, U-tah. U-tah. Dear Editor: In reading over the last issue of the Progress I was surprised to find there was no mention of the designation of a new state road through part of Emery county. I am in receipt of a letter from Wm. J. Seely, under date of Dec. 31, 1916, informing in-forming me that just before the close of the year 1916 the state road commission com-mission designated as a state road the roaH running from Wellington, thr;-ough thr;-ough Elmo, Cleveland, and Lawrence, and connecting with the main thoroughfare thor-oughfare between Castledale and Huntington at or near the Wilberg anch. The people living along this route, having been accustomed in the past to travel practically without roads and through mudholes, washes, gullies, and so on, are in a position to appreciate appre-ciate this generous though just act, and feel that a great deal of credit is due the state road commission, and are truly grateful that such action has been taken. While this road will be a great boon to the people of Emery county as a whole, from any point in the county it shortens the distance by several miles to Sunnyside a camp which furnishes one of the best markets mar-kets we have for our farmers' produce. pro-duce. We do not fall to appreciate the unceasing un-ceasing eforts of such men as Wm. J. Seely and others who have ever been conscientious workers and faithful boosters for this county. It is through th-rough the eforts of such men that Emery county has grown to its present pres-ent dimensions and rjouularitv. Let us unite our eforts and all become boosters for Emery county and watch her grow! Very truly yours, A. AXELSEN |
