' CLEVELAND Tuesday December 12, a new boy arrived at the home of Mr, and Mrs. Frank Lundy. All concerned are doing nicely. M. L. Snow, secretary of the board of school trustees, has an addition to his family. This time it is twins, a boy and a girl, born Djc. 13. Mother and babes are doing well ani even M. L. is able to be around. The Prirbary association is preparing a cantata for Christmas. Professor Johnson has his play"Enoch Arden" well under way. The people of ! Cleveland are expecting a dramatic ! feast. ! Gerald Leonard, Frank Robbins, Ernest Collard, Jay Anderson, Ander-son, Frank Howard and others from Huntington. LAWRENCE The ball and luncheon, given last Friday evening by the grammar grade department of our si.iool, was very well patronized. The profits, when handed to our principal by the pupils j who managed the wnole affair, were eight dollars and seventy-six cents. Tnis mtney will be spent for a basketball basket-ball and some goals, which wi.l complete com-plete the outrit for our grounds. Now, you nearby schools, look out for us! James Brinkerhoff was suddenly and j unexpectedly called to Wayne County, where his sister lies critically ill. ORANGEV1LLE Clyde VanBuren is still at the hospital 'but doing as well as can be expected. His many friends wish him a Merry 1 Christmas. The week of T lanksgiving was a very lively one. The stork and Turkey tried to see which would be the most popular bird of the two. By vote the stork came out victor, leaving boys at the homes of June Moffitt, Al Hadfield and Arch Huntington and a girl at the horn" of John Cox. All concerned are ' doing well. I A very pretty we iding at the home of j j Mr. and Mrs. J. K. Reid, must be men- j tioned when their daughter Rhea and I Bryant Moffitt were joined together in the holy bonds of matrimony. They are two of our most popular young folks and their many friends wish them success in their voyage of life. The children of Mrs. Hannah Snow, became greatly alarmed Sunday last on hearing that their mother, who is at Price, was taken with bleeding of the nose. Mrs. Snow was stricken with this same affliction eleven years ago and her friends and family despaired of her recovery. Her son Earl went to Price Tuesday to bring his mother home, and they returned Wednesday. Mrs. Snow standing the trip very well. Mr. Oscar Guymon and family of LaJara Colorado are visiting Mr. Uuy-mon's Uuy-mon's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Al.na Guymon. They anticipate spending the winter in Utah, visiting relatives and friends. The visit of the Farmers Institute at Orangeville was very much appreciated by the people. Their talks on sanitation sanita-tion were timely, and now, while it is fresh in our minds is the time to better our conditions alonj that line. Tatt n came from Black Hawk mine to spend a week or two with their people. Miss ; Jensen is one of the popular clerks at : the Orangevill Co-op and Earl is one of ' our successful farmers. ; Jerry Page and Miss Ida Jensen were ; also married in Novemoer. Jerry is an i old resident of this place and is one of i the substantial citizens, a credit to any community while M133 Ida is a most capableyoung woman, she being a pub- ; lie worker in the Primary and Young i Ladies organizations. ' Aunt Margret Moffitt is very feeble j and quite ill. She has been a sufferer for a long time. i The health of the people of Orange- ; ville is very good. j Spencer Snow has an uptodate barber ; shopand isdoinga fine business. Spencer passed a successful eximinition and is prepared to do firstclass work. Professor A. B. Willey gave a most instructive and entertaining lecture ; Sunday evening. Under the auspices of the Ladies Aid Club. His subject was, "My Travels in Italy." Mr. Willey held the attention of his audience with his graphic descriptions. A fine m jsical program was also a feature of the evening, which was a most enjoyable one. The program Committee of the Ladies Aid met at the home of Mrs. Kate Fox to plan cm work for tha I season. A must delightful afternoon was enjoyed. Mrs. Fox served one of I her most deliciou-i lunches. Tha regular meeting was held last Wednesday at the home of Mrs. Golda Woodward. The usual program was carried out. Mrs. Woodward also served excellent lunch. VI CTO R Ward conference was held at Victor Sunday, December 10. It seemed good to see Pres. Oveson's smiling face among us. Our home missionaries.Bros. A. L. Anderson and Heber Brockbank of Huntington were with us, so altogether alto-gether we had a real spiritual feast. Saturday, Dec. 19, Brother Thomas Wells returned from Salt Lake City where he saw nis son off for the mission field in England. George left the city Dec. 9. Thanksgiving night his friends and relatives gave him a farewell party and all wished him success on his mission. mis-sion. Mrs. Frank Noyes is visiting with her husband who is working in Helper. Mr. George Topham and his sister Alda from Paragona are visiting with relatives in Victor. j Two new families have made their I homes here. Messrs. Roy Larsen and Stratton both.of Wayne county. Monday night the young 'people seemed seem-ed to be having a jolly time down at Mrs. Horsleys and we weren't surprised surpris-ed at it when we saw the white honey candy appear. The District School will give their Christmas program Friday night Dec. 22. All are working hard in school to make it a big success and every one '. can be seen making something pretty to put on our Christmas tree.
