EJmund Crawford, our bank cashier, has been to Manti this week to attend hi i father's funeral. It is reported that hd may leave us for good. Mr. Crawford Craw-ford is a good citizen and has built a beautiful home in Castledale. We would all dislike to see him leave. Ex-President C. G. Larsen, who has been suffering for so long, passed peacefully peace-fully away last Wednesday night. His funeral will not be held until Sunday at 1 o'olock, thus giving all the time nec-tssary nec-tssary for his many friendsof the county coun-ty and state to get here. A fire broke out at the home of Harry Evans last Sasurday, but Castledale's excellent fire department, consisting of men and buckets, soon succeeded in extinguishing ex-tinguishing the flames. Mrs. J. P. Johnson of Huntington has been in Provo tne past week attending the commencement program. Her son Evart graduated from the music department de-partment this year. Mother and son will be home today. Surveyor David H. Wood, Gerald I Leonard, George Collard, Frank Kob-bins Kob-bins and other Huntington boys went , with the Castle Valley surveyors south yesterday to help survey the new railroad rail-road line. R. Y. Robison, the academy music teacher left Castledale Friday night otter the dance for Salt Lake City, where he will spend the summer with his parents. Mr. Robison will teach in I Idaho the coming winter. j Miss Hazel Acord greeted any and all customers of Ray Jensen's shop Monday Mon-day and Tuesday but decided that two days were a sufficiency, we presume. The latest reports from the European mission are that Parley Peterson and Melvin Hill have been banished from Germany and are now in Krolm Steadt I Longasse Hungary. The boys are having quite an experience, but are I feeling nne in their worK. The German I elders are tossed about just as the Empire Em-pire winds blow, but the boys say it is a good experience to have had, emphasis on the "nave had." Little Isaac Evans, the ten year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Tally Evans of Castledale was out herding cows last Saturday and was driving the cows up the lane north' of town when his horse became frightened and threw the boy off. The fall was a hard one and as a result the little fellow is now suffering from a broken arm and a severe inia-piacetiicnc. inia-piacetiicnc. Dr. Coleman is treating tne case and cue Jittle fellow is getting along nicely. W. King Driggs, the new music teacher teach-er of the academy, has changed his mind about locating here this summer. He will spend the coming season, until September, in Sanford, Colorado. Mr. Driggs left Castledale Monday for Thistle, where he will enjoy a few weeks of ranch life with his brother-in-law before going east. We are real sorry to lose Brother Driggs, but we will be content with the knowledge that he will return in September. The justice court at Castledale is busy these days. A number of arrests have been made against different parties part-ies for permitting waste water to damage dam-age the county road. Carl Wilbery was arrested, tried and acquitted on this charge and as we go to press Charles Johansen is having his hearing on the same charge. It is claimed by the defendants de-fendants that the county filled up their waste ditches, which were good last year. It is reported that one or two more arrests will be made on the same charge. Our county clerk and justice of the peace have been kept busy this week issuing marriage licenses and performing perform-ing ceremonies. Saturday, licenses were issued to Wm. L.
