District Court for Utah federal grand jury. Chief Judge Aldon J. Anderson called the jury to replace one disbanded by Chief Judge Willis W. Ritter in November 1977. Judge Ritter died March 4 without a new grand jury being called. Serve 18 Months Judge Anderson noted that grand juries serve 18 months and are free to investigate alleged federal offenses. The names of 12 women and 11 men were picked from some 50 names to be members of the jury. Hear Witnesses The grand jury will hear witnesses called by the U.S. attorney's office to determine if a federal crime has been committed and if there is a likelihood a particular person committed the crime. A grand jury simply decided whether to charge someone with a criminal offense and does not determine guilt or innocence, Judge Anderson told the group. He also stressed that grand jury deliberations are secret. BAY WAY DRAPERIES CONFERENCE SALE! OVER YD 75,000 Factory Close Oof Superior Quality SPRING MORNING Twin Size, Full Size, & I Mattress Sets!
