FOR TEMPORARY relief, you can start the engine again after tapping the carburetor smartly with any heavy object such as a jack handle, tire iron, or even a rock. This will usually dislodge enough of the trash to let the needle .valve seat. Now depress the accelerator clear to tiia floor and engage the starter. After several seconds of operation to clear th engine of the extremely rich mixture the engine should start. This may only get you through the block for another bit of trash will stop the engine again completely. This tiash seems to have little effect anywhere except on the carburetor float vahe. It burns nicely, passes through any jet without trouble, and will coalesce only in a magnetic field. It is light grey in color and forms in tiny needle-likflecks of material. Every few weeks this sediment bowl should be removed and the magnet wiped clear of deposits.
