Show Egg-Eating Habit. Egg-eating is a habit that starts with hens, generally, that are out of condition. In other words, when the hen gets too fat and also when there 1s a scarcity of lime in the bill of fare the shells of the eggs become thin. When being laid these soft-shelled eggs usually break and the hen thus acquires a taste. It Is always best to gather the eggs several times a day ao that there will be no chance for breakage by hens crowding on the nest or by a newly laid egg striking those already laid. |
