Sunday, the two families visited relatives at Malad. Mrs. Laura Porter of Weston received word of the death of her father, Heber Hansen, at Hamer, Idaho, former residents of Franklin. Mr. Hansen was found dead in the field of a heart attack. Mrs. Hansen is the former Maud Lowe. Mrs. Tressie Ralph was a guest at a luncheon at the home of Mrs. Oliver Birch at Hyrum Thursday. Friday Mr. and Mrs. Ralph motored to Downey to visit their son Stanley and family. Mrs. Keith Taylor is spending some time with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Olsen. Mr. Taylor went to Alaska where he is employed by the government for the summer. Mrs. Taylor will continue her extension work at the South Cache high school. Mrs. Areta Doney and children attended a reunion of the late Joseph Bergensen at Lngoon on Thursday. A lovely dinner, participating In the fun concessions and social visiting were the days pleasure. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hatch and three daughters of Salt Lake City were week end guests of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Hatch. They came to attend the wedding reception of Mr. Hatchs niece, Its brand Mr. and Mrs. Tom Kerr. Mrs. Denise Hatch and sons Greg and Harry left Friday with DeWitt Swainston for Las Vegas, Nev. Mrs. Hatch will visit her daughters, Dorothy and Marilyn, who are employed at Los Vegas, for an indefinite time. The boys will go on to Boulder City, to spend sometime with their father, Shelton Hatch. Mrs. W. P. Waddoups brothers, Mr. and Mrs. Darrel Kent of Los Angeles, Cal., and Mr. Harry Kent and son Norman of Mantela, Cal., are visiting relatives at Preston, Lewiston and Franklin. They were Sunday dinner guests of Bishop and Mrs. Waddoups. Week-En- d Guests Week end house guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Woodward were their son, Mr. and Mrs. D. L. Woodward of Ephrald, Wash., and Mrs. Jennie Bibbs, a convert to Saints church from the Latter-da- y Connectlccut. Mrs. Bibbs was very kind to the missionaries where D L. labored. Mrs. Leno Smith of Idaho Falls and Mrs. Luella Glover of Maple-to- n called on Mrs. Estella Wright Sunday afternoon. Friday Mr. and Mrs. Neeley and daughter, Ramona visited Mr. and Mrs. Glen Neeley at Tremonon, Mrs. Neeley is very ill. Mr. and Mrs. Garnet Woodward and Mr. and Mrs. Dalian Woodward were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Grant Benson at Weston, who entertained at dinner in compliment to Mrs. Bensons father Melvin Porter of Logan. Following dinner Mr. and Mrs. Porter showed films of Hawaii. Receives Degree James Packer a Franklin boy, son of Mrs. Veressa Packer of Logan received his Masters degree at the University of Utah last week. He was also appointed second councilor in the bishoprid of the University ward in Salt Lake City. Orion Packer of Redwood Cily, Calif., and Mrs. Veressa Packer of Logan visited Mr. and Mrs. Vaughn Packer Friday. Levor a underwent Doney, major operation at the Logan LDS hospital Monday morning. Mrs. Estella Smith, sports director for the Mutual organized two baseball team for the girls last week, with Vonda Oliverson, captain and pitcher for the senior girls and Melba Naef, captaih and pitcher for the MIA Maids. Little Tommy McFarland who broke his leg some months ago, had the cast removed Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Robinson spent the week end at Salt Lake City and Draper where they were gupsts of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Bradford at Ogden, Mr. Bradford has been very ill. Overnight Guests Dr. and Mrs. Roy Humphries were Saturday overnight guests of Mrs. Humphries parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Lowe. They loft their three children with Mrs. Lowe and Mrs. Vern McFarland for awhile. Dr. Humphries left for the service at Fort Douglas, Utah Sunday evening. Monday, Mrs. Humphries left on a three weeks tour of the LatterSaints history -day points sponsored by the BYU university with Prof. Burton as lecturer. They will visit .points of interest at Washington D.C., Boston, New York, Vermont and other places returning home by way of the Pioneer trail. Mrs. Stella Biggs returned home Sunday from a weeks visit with her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Parkinson Jr., and children at Irwin, Idaho'. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Lowe visited at Boise several days last week guests of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Stokes. They also went to the Black Canyon, where they visited Mr. and Mrs. Frank Evers. To Denver t Mr. and Mrs. Dick Johnson are spending a nice vacation before he leaves for the service the first of July. At Denver they are visiting Dick's brother, Markin Johnson and family.
