J The 29 ad valorem tax levy for Idaho was set at 69.3 cents on every $100 of assessed valuation by the state board of equalization at a meeting last night, Gov, C. A. Eottolfsen announced. The rate was 39 cents per $100 higher than in 1938 and one of the largest in the states history. The board explained the ncrease by pointing out the state assumed the relief burden formerly handled by the counties. They predicted county levies would be correspondingly lower so that the average taxpayer would pay a tax about equal tc that of last year.
