The Logan American Legion junior baseball nine added convincing proof to their ownership of the Cache Yalley junior league title Monday when they closed their schedule with a 17 to 0 victory over Richmond, the only shutout registered during the schedule so fitr. The si hedule ends Wednesday with Lewiston playing at Richmond. With Bateman and Larson of the Logan nine pitching exceptional ball the Richmond team garnered only five scattered hits, one each by Waite, Johnson. Hayes, Robinson and Hatch. Bateman pitched brilliantly for eight innings and added a single ami a double to the strong Logan batting attack. Hovcy, a veteran, ri turned to the Logan lineup and contributed a triple and two singles in two official times at bat, scoring four runs during the contest. Dick Ryan scored three times and connected for a double and a single. Gordon Porter hammered out the only home run of the game. Dix Bateson, Logan catcher, had a perfect day at bat with two singles in two trips to the plate. Logan fell on Ellwood, Richmond pitcher, for six runs in the first inning and then went on to score in every inning but the fifth and seventh.
