HANSEN of week. eai-- Wo solicit your contributions OlJIt NEW JOB (Editorial) For a number of years the presiding bishopric have included in the outline of study for the Aaronic priesthood, one lesson each month on genealogy. In many stakes this was about the only attempt at teaching genealogy to the It is now announced that these geneayoung people. logical lessons will be discontinued. The reason given for this action is that the new plan of holding priesthood meetings on Sunday morning does not allow sufficient time to teach the genealogical lessons successfully. This places the full burden of teaching genealogy squarely on the shoulders of the genealogical committees. What are they going to do about? If you were looking for someone to learn mathematics, dramatics, a new language or a new business, whom would choose? In every case, you will admit it would he jou foolish to choose other than young people. They can learn much easier and much more thoroughly than older people. Older people can advance and grow and accomplish great things in the lines of work which they began in youth, but it is hard for them to leam a new trade, a new business or a new language. To be sure, no one should be denied the privilege of studying genealogy, no matter what his age, but if our job is to be well done we must not neglect the young people. Young boys and girls can be interested in genealogy. They do not become interested in a class if the majority of the members of the class are older people who monopolize all the time. But they do find genealogy a most absorbing study if they have a good teacher and a class membership composed entirely of young people who are somewhere near the same . the outer man-nCXL Ralph Smith, Quarryman have finished him, MORE FASCISM (Continued) President Jedediah M.
