The Franklin county sugar company plant at Whitney is handling a bigger average daily tonnage this year than ever before, according to Mr. Heath, and the run will likely last until late in December. The Amalgamated company Is operating only the plant at Lewiston this year and the run there will continue until late in December also-20 will Lieut. Bradford and three seamen were killed instantly while a fourth seaman was injured fatally. About the same time Chief Petty Officer J. J. Plummer was in the pit of a turret on the Maryland.
