Valley New, December 5, 2002 Lifestyles Nutcracker coming to WVC Annual City Hall Christmas Concert Local popular singer Bonnie Harris will be featured in a Holiday Concert Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the lobby of West Valley City Hall. The free concert is sponsored by the West Valley Arts Council The concert will the be the fifth year that Harris has been featured at City Hall to usher in the city's Holiday Spirit 'This is a wonderful way to kick off the season," said Hams, who will perform songs from her Christmas Album "If I Had a Wish For Christmas" as well as other traditional holiday songs. "For me this is a time that always includes music," Harris said. "I wanted to be able to share this joy and happiness with others at this time of year." Hams, a West Valley Resident grew up in Magna and has been performingg most of her life. The West Valley Arts Councils annual production of The Nutcracker will be presented Dec. at Hunter High School beginning at 7 p.m. The performance features performers, ages from Miss years-olMargene Creative Dance Company under the direction of Margene Conde. Her newest album, "Whispers of Comfort and Peace" was released this week. "When 1 choose songs to sing I want to be able to touch everyone," Harris said. Harris was a 1999 finalist for vocalist of the year at the annual PEARL Awards and a 2000 finalist for Album of the year for her album "Lullabye to Keep." Walter Cronkite to narrrate Messiah performance Mormon Tabernacle Choir to blend old with new Christmas holiday concerts Cherished by generations as "the most trusted man in America," Walter Cronkite will be the guest narrator for this years Christmas concerts by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square. Cronkite, best known as the anchor for the CBS Evening News for 19 years, will join the Choir and Orchestra on a concert program entitled "Silent Night, Holy Night The concert will feature Christmas songs and sacred anthems appropriate for the season by the Choir, with an original treatment of a holiday story narrated by Cronkite. "We are thrilled and honored to have Americas senior statesman of broadcast journalism join us for this years Christmas concerts, said Craig Jessop, Music Director for the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. We felt he was the perfect choice to complement our program tins year and his narration will be the center-piec- e of the program. While not wanting to give away the surprises m this years concert, Jessop prom ised a special treat for The Christmas concerts will be presented in the Conference Center on Dec. 12 in a preview performance, and Dec.
