Tigner successfully completed 2 weeks of training designed to challenge new Marine recruits both physically and mentally. Olsen has graduated from the satel- lite and wideband communications equipment apprentice course at Fort Gordon, Augusta, Ga. The graduate learned the theory and principles of electronic systems, components and devices, fiber optics, cryogenics, computers, and satellite tracking systems and equipment; principles of fixed and transportable wideband and earth terminal communications systems and telemetry; operate and maintain tactical and strategic satellite communications terminals and security procedures; operation, maintenance, and repair of related equipment including test, circuit analysis, and voice and record communications equipment. Olsen is the son of Steve B. and Linda L. Olsen of 4048 W. Yorkshire Drive, South Jordan, Utah. His wife, Angela, is the daughter of Paul K. and Aline Pearson of 5508 W. Colten Drive, Kearns, Utah.
