Kirt Woolley Kirt Woolley returns from Mexico Torreon Country singer Mark Chesnutt and Tracy Lawrence will be performing Aug. 3 at 7 p.m. at the Rocky Mountain Raceway in West Valley Mission Elder Kirtland Wade Woolley returned from an honorable two year mission to Torreon, Mexico on July, 12, 2000. Kirt will report on his mission Sunday, July 30 2000 at 1:20 p.m. at the Hunter 5th Ward, 5065 W. Janette Ave (3965 South) West Valley City. He is the son of Kent and Sherri Woolley and the grandson of Marilyn and the late Wade Bills of Pocatello, Idaho, and the late Kirtland and Vivian Woolley of Bountiful, Utah. Kirt graduated from Hunter High School in 1997 and plans to return to the College of Eastern Utah, which he was attending before his mission. Welcome home, Kirt! City. The two performers have had numerous number one hits on the country music charts in during the past decade. Chesnutt, winner of the prestigous County Music Associations Horizon Award, has had 12 singles and eight chart-toppi- albums. best-sellin- g "Ive never had a strictly traditional album, Chesnutt said. "All of my albums have Cajun songs, swing songs, love songs, ballads, rockin country songs. Chesnutt , a native of Beaumont, Texas, came onto the country music scene in 1990 with the hit single Too Cold at Home. The song was followed by hits that included Brother Jukebox, "Blame it on Texas, and Old WJH Flames Have New Names. Joining Chesnutt will be Tracy Lawrence, who came into the country music scene at the age of 17. Shortly before tire release of his first album in 1990, he was shot by four thugs our-sid-e a hotel parking lot in Nashville. The album. Sticks and Stones, released five months later, sold more than 500,000 copies and included the hits Todays Lonely Fool, Runnin Behind and Somebody Paints the Wall. In 1993 Lawrence had three number one Cant Break It To country hits with Alibis, My Heart and My Second Home. Lawrence will be performing songs from his current album, Lessons Learned. Details: Mary and Robert Goble Mary Elizabeth Loch became the bride of Robert G. Goble on June 3rd in the Bountiful L.D.S. Temple. They have recently returned from their honeymoon in YellowStone Park. Mary (Betsy) is the daughter of Charles Kean and Mary Evelyn Loch after graduating from Calvin High School she graduated from the college of Eastern Oklahoma and served a faithful mission in the Salt Lake Temple Square mission. Robert graduated from Cyprus High 252-955- 7. School and served a faithful mission in the Mexico City north mission. He is the daugh- ter of Gordon and Joan Goble. They will make their home in Magna. Magna student receives scholarship Utah States most prestigious scholarship has been awarded to Janelle Christensen, a 2000 graduate of Cyprus High School. The scholarship will provide Christensen with tuition for eight semesters and a stipend of $2,400 per year for four years provided she maintains a 3.5 cumulative grade point average. Christensen was among 20 students chosen to Teceive the Utah State University Club Scholar Scholarship. More than 800 students from across the United States participated in this years competition.
