Show Peg Tlmes-Thursda- April 15. 1982 y, Spring concert for everyone By KAREN McCUMBER Hie Magna Stake invites all residents of Magna over 12 to attend the free Spring Concert held at 7:30 p.m., Saturday evening, April 17 in the Magna Stake Center 8400 West, 3084 South. The daylong Circle of a Womans Reach Celebration will be capped off with this special program featuring the talents of Daniel Keeler, narrator; Barbara Inkley, writer; DeeAnn Zarbock soloist; Wayne Gilbert soloist; Mark Hansen organist, Dr. Jay Campbell, conductor, the Swanee Singers Chorus and the Magna Stake Womans Chorus, Virginia Johnson accompanist. Elaine Husband is organizing the concert. i Daniel Keeler is the Media Production Specialist for the Utah State Office of Education. He has been an announcer, actor, writer and director of radio and television and will serve as narrator of the program. DeAnn Zarbock has been singing as a soprano soloist since high school. She distinguished herself with the University of Utah A cappella Choir and currently sings with the Swanee Singers and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Wayne Gilbert, owner of Theatre West and current member of the Salt Lake City Opera Theatre began his career at age 16 with the Columbus Georgia Civic Light Operetta Company. He organized the Linebacker Quartet 20 years ago and they have performed extensively on the West Coast at leading clubs and hotels. Mark Hansen holds a Master of Music degree in piano performance. He has successfully performed and competed internationally. He is also a distinguished organist and conductor and will perform organ recital pieces at the concert. Dr. Campbell, conductor, instrumentalist, entertainer and educational leader has been in music department leadership at the University of Utah and Adams State College. He is currently Associate Superintendent of Public Instruction at the Utah State Office of Education and is director of the 60 make voice Swanee Singers Chorus. The Spring Concert is sure to be the most enjoyable spring event in Magna this year. As a standing room only crowd is anticipated, we would encourage you to arrive early and come prepared to relax and enjoy! Smithsonian space shuttle exhibiton display at Hansen Planetarium Americas Space Truck: The Space Shuttle, an exhibit on loan from the National Air and Space Museum of the Smithsonian Institution, will be on display at the Hansen Planetarium Saturday, April 17 from through Sunday, May are dramatic color photographs and an interesting text which explains the exhibit components. 16, 1982. The Columbia is a 1:50 scale model of the original and was lent for the exhibit by Rockwell International North America Space Operations. The Space Telescope model was donated by With the most recent successful launch and recovery of the Columbia, America has fully opened the doors to less costly, more frequent space travel. Americas Space Truck: The Space Shuttle will show visitors to the Hansen Planetarium the technology and the tools behind this remarkable aerospace vehicle. Americas Space Truck: The Space Shuttle, along with the Hansen Planetariums many permanent exhibits, can be seen Monday through Friday from 8:45 a.m. until 9:30 p.m., on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., and on Sundays from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. There is no admission charge to tour the Hansen Planetarium exhibits. Pseamiti "mi" despite temple repairs Rtanitia MANTI Officials of the Mormon Miracle Pageant in this central Utah community say this years production will go ahead on schedule, despite the renovation work on the Manti Temple, on whose grounds the pageant is staged. The pageant is scheduled for July 8, 9, 10 and 13 through 17 at 9 p.m. nightly. R. Born May 8, 1920, in Magna, to Walter E. and Ruby Hancock Coon. Married Irene Lehman, August 20, 1948, in Granger, later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Served as Deputy Sheriff for 25 years. Member, Utah Peace Officers Association. Survivors: wife, Magna; son and daughter, Steven, North Salt Lake; Mrs. Don (Jacklyn) Bird, West Valley City; seven grandchildren; brother and sister, Virgil, Mrs. Victor (Ruby) Eldredge, West Valley City; Dearld, Magna. BLISS S.BRIMHALL Bliss Smith Brimhall, 73, of Magna, died April 4, 1982 in West Valley City Hospital. Born December 22, 1908, Provo, to Esther R. and Sophronia L. Smith Brimhall. Married Thelma Kennedy, June 28, 1931 in Ogden. He was a member of the LL)S Church. He had worked at the Navy Supply Depot. Served with U.S. Navy during WWII. Reared and educated in Provo and attended BYU. He had previously lived in Ogden. He retired in 1970 as a foreman, Disposal Unit, Tooele Army Depot. Surviving, widow, Magna; one son, two daughters, John Brimhall, Long Beach, California; Mrs. Jerry Snively, Ogden; Mrs. 14 Betty Ortiz, Magna,; grandchildren; greateight grandchildren; six brothers, three sister, Wilford W. Brimhall, Provo; Cecil Smith Brimhall, Salt Lake City; Roland Brimhall, Provo; Warren Brimhall, this year. The renovation will have no affect whatsoever on the pageant, Dyreng said. Meanwhile, Helen Dyreng, assistant director of the pageant, has announced audition dates for the show, which is a h colorful outdoor dramatization of the century history of The Church of Saints, with Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y flashbacks to ancient American events from the pages of the Book of Mormon. The audition dates are June 1 and 2 at 7 p.m. nightly in the Manti LDS Seminary Provo; Harold S. ARCHIBALD Donna Collins Archibald, 73, died April 3, 1982 in San Francisco. Bom February 19, 1909 in Provo, Utah to Thomas Eugene and Eliza Hodson Collins. Married Fernand Archibald in Salt Lake City in 1928. He died March 1979. Former employee Utah State Health Commission. Served as lifeguard and swimming instructor at the Deseret Gym. Retired and moved' to Hawaii in 1964. Former Magna resident. Survivors: Robert Son, C., granddaughter, Mrs. Cynthia Claire Borge, both San Carlos, California; brother and sister, Eugene H., Ogden; Mrs. Mildred Needham, Salt Lake City. SUSC Honor Roll CEDAR CITY TA total of 207 students earned honor roll status winter quarter at Southern Utah State College. Thirty-on- e of the 207 students earned high honor roll status or straight A academic averages. To be named to the SUSC honor roll a student must be enrolled full time, take 15 or more credit hours, and earn a quarterly grade point average of 3.60 or higher according to Wards. Robb, college registrar. SUSC grades on a plus and minus system, Robb said. A 4.00 GPA is a straight A average; a 3.60 GPA is approximately an A average. While the majority of students on the honor roll are from Utah, many other states are represented, Robb said. Most students come to SUSC from Nevada, Arizona and California.
