Show SCRAPBOOK Thursday, March 25, Who was last week's family? The John and Elizabeth Jones family were pictured in last weeks Magna Times. Their sons, Robert G., Lloyd, and Ellis were also shown from left to right. Dixie and Ben Jones, 3080 S. 8850 W. in Magna were the first to identify the family . John and Elizabeth were Bens parents. In 1905 , John Jones moved to Sunnyside all the way from W ales, Englandto become a coal miner with his father and brother. A year later, John quit the mines at Sunnyside and went to work for Utah Copper because he didnt like the mining con ditions at his previous job. John and Elizabeth Jones were born in the 1860s and were married on August 13, 1913. Johns parents and Elizabeths parents promised each other that their children would some day marry. Elizabeth waited for John to return to England so they could do just that. Robert G. is retired from Ideral Cement , Ellis works for Papanikolas Construction, and Lloyd is retired after working for various companies.
