It doesnt even fall on the same date twice. Yet Christmas cannot dim it nor July 4th steal its gjory. All America loves it with a quiet and intense affection that is reserved for no other day of the year. What makes Thanksgiving different? What makes it loved? What makes it real? le The official visitation of Dis- OF P MEETS Pleasant Green Camp, Daughters of Utah Pioneers, held their regular" meeting Thursday, November 17th. Each table was attractive with a centerpiece of a Horn of Plenty filled with fruit and flowers. Hostesses were Mrs. Alice Carter, Mrs. Faye Isakson and Mrs. Ella Petersen. Mis. Belva Jones presented two vocal solos, Memand Silver Threads ories, Among the Gold. She was ao companied by Mrs. Orpha Miko-las- h. r Perhaps the answer is simple: Thanksgiving is an affirmation. It is our hearts testimony to a deeply held conviction the conviction that these things we call free and decent and America did not just happen to us. We did not get them because we were wiser, or more clever, or even luckier. This conviction is the sum of many beliefs and experiences, the belief in the dignity of every human being; the belief in decency and honesty and integrity; the belief in a responsibility, under God, to our fellowman, wherever he may be. For these beliefs, and the American way of life, Thanksgiving Day is our joyous affirmation to a kind Providence for his blessings and guidance. The lesson, Zion Sings, music of the Pioneers and the story of organizing the first Tabernacle choir, was given by Mrs. Annie Johnson. The DUP members are trying to locate any information on Hilma Olsen Juhlin, born in Sweden January 29, 1876 and died in Magna January 15, 1920.
