With the assistance of Principal H. E. White, the students first studied creeds of ;very sort available, some dating back to the Roman Empire. Every student in school wrote his own idea of a creed. The various original versions were studied in classes, and suitable bits selected and combined into a draft by each class. Then the several drafts were taken over by a student committee representing the entire school, and rewritten into a single creed. It was adopted in its present form. The entire student body memorized the creed and recited it in unison at the opening of each student assembly in the school. Soon after the student body of the Timken School put the creed into practice, Fulton Lewis, Jr., noted radio commentator, visited the school and broadcast the creed, resulting in an avalanche of comments of approval from all parts of the country, and from representatives of many vocations and creeds. The Copper Printing would like to suggest it for local schools: The Student Creed I pledge to develop a deeper appreciation of myself, my country and my Creator. I believe in myself. I must have the confidence to pursue successfully my vocation and to attain my goal in life. 1 believe in my school It provides an opportunity to acquire the skills of my vocation, the knowledge to earn my living and the culture to teach me how to live. I believe in my country. America has made available to man the worlds greatest bulwark of freedom. I pledge to keep it so. I believe in a Supreme Being. Lifes gifts and privileges are ultimately derived from God. Without faith I will perish. I pledge to uphold these ideals. I will respect myself and obey the regulations of my school, the laws of my country and the commandments of my Creator. If placed parallel with the seam the pins must be placed outside the stitching line or removed . entirely as sawing progresses. This often results in a poor fitting garment or sagging aeama. It is very important when easing in fullness to pin correctly. Pin each end first and then place other pins between about apart,, pushing a little extra fullness between each pin. When pinning for fitting, pins should bo placed parallel to the seam lines and fairly close together so that they approximate an actual seam.
